Nathan, Colin, Kraven, and Kerry swiftly left the scene.
As for the security guards and soldiers at the harbor, it took them a long time to finally regain their senses.
Many of them stared at the heavily-damaged Lady Freedom statue before turning their gaze to Max's corpse beneath it. They whispered softly amongst themselves, “Has Admiral Max... been killed?”
“My God, our God of War has been defeated.”
“Now that our Five-star General has been beaten to death, does it herald the end of the world?”
Just as cries of despair rang from the crowd, a towering black figure suddenly emerged from the darkness.
Dressed in a classical-looking suit and a pair of black leather shoes, the figure looked to be around fifty years old and had a handsome, albeit stern-looking face.
The exquisite-looking walking cane in his hand served to accentuate the distinguished air he was exuding.
As a result, the crowd was awestruck by his presence.
They stared at him in amazement while wondering which royal family he was a member of.
Even if the Pope himself was there, he would be equally blown away by the man.
After all, the middle-aged man of royal descent was none other than Vince, the vampire duke in charge of Newcove.
Previously, the famous vampire viscount, Antonio, had been killed by Nathan, which lead to outrage among the vampires.
Moreover, the incident had particularly upset Vince.
Consequently, he ordered all of Newcove's vampires to kill Nathan in order to defend the dignity of their race.
However, due to the latter's overwhelming strength, none of them managed to find a decent opportunity to strike.
That night, after learning that Nathan had fallen into Max's trap, Vince had hidden in the shadows to observe the situation. He had hoped to see with his own eyes how Max annihilated Nathan.
