Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2914

At that moment, he was like a hyena who had lost his mind because of extreme starvation. Sadly, the food he found belonged to a pride of lions.

Moreover, the one leading the group had such an alpha presence he was giving off the vibe that he could kill anyone at any time.

Standing rooted to the spot, the disheveled old man stared at the food on the dining table. At any rate, he was unwilling to give up and leave just like that despite not having the guts to reach for the food. He bared his teeth at Nathan, low growls leaving his throat.

“You want some food?” Nathan tried to sound the disheveled old man out upon sensing his intentions.

Then, he picked up the bucket of fried chicken drumsticks on the table and handed it to the man.

Whoosh!

The disheveled old man snatched the bucket and held it tightly in his embrace as he headed to one corner to gobble the contents.

One after another, he shoved the drumsticks into his mouth at an insane speed.

Like a pulverizer, he crunched down on the drumsticks and swallowed everything, from the meat to the bones.

Everyone around wore strange expressions on their faces as they exchanged glances.

The disheveled old man was clearly still unsatisfied after finishing the whole bucket. Like before, he approached Nathan again.

However, this time, he did not make menacing gestures or gnash his teeth like a beast at Nathan. All he did was stare at the latter with expectant eyes.

Seeing that, Nathan asked, “You still want more?”

As he said that, he grabbed the hamburger and some other food on the table and passed them over.

Unlike earlier, the disheveled old man did not hide after receiving the food this time. Instead, he sat at the table and began devouring the food, evidently a sign that he had let his guard down around Nathan.

It did not matter what food it was or whether there were bones—his mouth pulverized everything effortlessly for him to swallow.

The crowd was utterly tongue-tied!

Even Colin and Kraven had weird looks on their faces. Kerry also leaned closer to Nathan's ear and whispered, “Mr. Cross, this fellow doesn't seem very smart.”

At that moment, the vague sound of sirens sounded from outside. The ambulance and police car were coming.

Because of their sensitive identities, Nathan and the few others stood up and intended to leave.

After some deliberation, Nathan decided to take the disheveled old man along. He thought he could later enlist the renowned doctors in Eurasia to examine the old man and see if they could treat him.

This fellow has been on the Ghost Ship for so long. He's the only one they imprisoned in their basement prison cell. I'm sure there must be a reason behind it. Perhaps he can provide me with some leads to find Master.

After coming to that decision, Nathan tasked Kraven to help the disheveled old man to wash up and change into fresh clothes.

Once the old man was cleaned up, Nathan was finally satisfied. Even though the former still resembled a beggar, he was not so much of an eyesore now, at the very least.

Nathan smiled and said, “I don't know your name. It seems like your ability to speak and eyesight have deteriorated after being locked up in the dark for too long.”

After a short moment of deliberation, he continued, “Well, how about this? I'll go ahead and give you a name. It'll be more convenient for us to address you that way.”

With his eyes fixed on the old man, who was exuding the demeanor of a gang leader, Nathan suddenly lifted his lips into a smile. “I'll name you Sevan Hurt!”

Seeing Nathan smiling, so too did Sevan.

Like an obedient puppy, he was happy as long as Nathan was.
