Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2943

The dot on the radar suggested that a group of people was running toward Nathan.

Given the speed at which the dot was moving, Nathan estimated that the people from Heavenly City would catch up to them soon enough.

Nathan stood at the deck of the warship and looked into the distance.

The only thing he could find was an isolated island about the size of a football field.

The island only had two coconut trees. Other than that, nothing else lived on that island of sand.

“Where are we now?” Nathan calmly asked. “And what is the name of that island?”

Jermaine quickly replied, “We're on the Pacific Ocean, and that island hasn't been given a name yet. The Southern Fleet has a habit of calling that island 'the Twin Flowers,' though.”

Nathan was a little surprised to hear that. “The Twin Flowers?”

Smiling, Jermaine replied, “Yeah. Notice how the island has nothing but a pair of coconut trees? From a distance, don't those trees, which grew right next to each other, look like twin flowers?”

“Yeah, it does indeed look a bit like twin flowers,” Nathan agreed.

“That's why the Southern Fleet gave it the name of Twin Flowers.”

Nathan nodded a little. “It's a nice name.”

After saying all that, he checked his watch and calmly pointed out, “It's ten in the morning now, and my guess is that if we keep moving forward, the people from Heavenly City will catch up to us in a few hours. Since they are adamant about fighting us and conflict is inevitable, let's just stop here and wait for them. That way, we won't have to wait that long for them to show up, and we can rest up in the meantime.”

Jermaine nodded and replied, “Okay, I'll issue the order and have our people stop moving right away. We'll rest and wait for our opponent here.”

It did not take long before the Dragon Warriors' ship dropped anchor near Twin Flowers. The warships spread out and were in formation when they paused to wait for their enemy to show up.

Many citizens were only on those warships because they were heading home. Seeing how the warships had dropped anchor and how the soldiers looked as though they were ready for war scared the citizens.

Fortunately, they were soon informed that it was just regular practice, and the citizens need not worry about anything at all.

That announcement calmed them up.

If the Dragon Warriors had stuck to their original plans and kept moving forward, it would take the people from Heavenly City about twelve hours to catch up.

However, they had stopped and were waiting there, so it only took the people from Heavenly City about three hours to show up.

It was almost as though Chev could sense it. He shifted his gaze from his book and looked forward, and without warning, their gazes met.

Sparks of fury went off when that happened.

Colin and the others were using a pair of binoculars as well, and they saw the yacht that was showing up in the distance.

Surprised, Colin asked, “Huh? Why did the Heavenly City send so few people after our fleet? And why are they using such a small yacht? They think way too little of us.”

Getting a small yacht to fight against a fleet of warships was similar to sending a lamb to destroy a den of lions. It was a suicide mission.

Before anyone could say anything else, Nathan spoke up. “That is not what's happening here. Our enemies won't come after us unless they are confident they can destroy us. Do you see what's behind that yacht?”

Sailing close behind the yacht were a few luxurious ships that were filled with people.

That was when it happened.

Just then, an officer hurried to Nathan and Jermaine. After saluting, he reported, “We've detected our enemy. It is a fleet made of seven warships and is about one hundred nautical miles away. According to our intel, that is likely the seventh team of the Pacific Ocean Fleet. Our initial assessment suggests that their combat prowess is similar to ours.”
