Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2988

Fang, Destroyer, and Heptakill were major generals who constantly guarded the North border against enemy attacks all year round. Therefore, their combined strength was not to be taken lightly.

Even though the Jetroinan fighters did not fear death, they were still no match for the three of them.

Very quickly, Jetroina had lost more than half of its elite fighters, which finally broke Hidetake's resolve.

Hidetake immediately barked orders at his subordinates, who were prepared to rush into the fray. “Stop this suicide mission at once! Everyone, regroup and get ready!”

Nathan soon realized that the enemy troops were no longer blindly charging toward their death. It seemed that Hidetake was going to change his strategy from engaging in single combat to a full-on assault.

Nathan then turned around to look at Colin, who stood next to him.

Having understood Nathan's silent command, Colin said, “Troops! Take your position and be prepared to fight!”

With a flourish, more than two thousand five hundred bloodthirsty men formed a battle formation with high spirits, ready to intercept any enemies that came their way.

Hidetake's subordinates also unsheathed their swords and prepared to attack. All they needed was a single word from Hidetake to charge forward.

At the sight of this, Hidetake's heart began to beat faster.

His palms were already drenched in sweat.

To him, this battle was of the utmost importance.

Thus, defeat was completely out of the question.

If this battle was lost, it would have resulted in Hidetake's reputation being tarnished, and his subordinates being condemned to never return.

Hidetake was considered a famed and respected figure in Jetroina.

He had participated in many battles and made great military achievements.

Yet, no battle had rattled his nerves like this particular one.

Hidetake's concern did not just stem from the importance of this battle, but that his enemy was too strong.

Today, he had to face off against Eurasia's God of War, Nathan Cross, as well as the North Army's Three Tigers and Seven Champions.

It was precisely due to this scenario that Nathan decided on challenging the enemy general to a duel.

Hidetake, on the other hand, never thought that Nathan would still challenge him to a duel.

He hesitated for a moment before giving Nathan a solemn nod. “Very well. Since you wish to end this dispute with a fight to the death, I will fulfill your request. Either one of us dies today or leaves in utter despair!”

“I agree to the terms,” replied Nathan with a grim smile.

“Bring me my sword,” said Hidetake coldly.

Very quickly, his subordinate brought over a beautiful katana and placed it in his open palm.

Sword in hand, he dashed off the boat and landed on the beach. Pinning an icy glare at Nathan, Hidetake said, “To battle.”

“It's on!”

Nathan then strode away from The Unsullied with his head held high, ready to receive his opponent.
