As Nathan scrutinized Allfather, the latter—Lothar—did the same.
They locked gazes, staring at each other intently.
Then, a hint of confusion appeared in their eyes as they both sensed something familiar about each other.
Lothar looked away from Nathan and swept his gaze over the whole area before finally shifting his focus back to Nathan and the others.
“Why are you wearing masks? Do you have something to hide?”
“Aren't you doing basically the same thing?” Nathan replied calmly.
Lothar responded coldly, “If you want to see my face, that'll depend on whether you have what it takes to uncover my cloak.”
“Very well. I'll find out who you are,” Nathan replied.
With that, he raised his left leg and stomped his foot onto the ground.
There was a resounding rumble as a web-like crack appeared on the hard ground.
At the same time, a shockwave began spreading along the ground from the spot underneath Nathan's foot, moving forward in the direction he was facing.
The shockwave threw many of the guards from Heavenly City into the air.
It was about to spread to Lothar's feet when he snorted coldly. “Who gave you permission to behave so impertinently before me?”
After saying that, a mighty shockwave burst forth from his body that rippled his clothes even though there was no wind.
Both of their shockwaves collided with a thunderous boom.
The ear-splitting sound reverberated through the air, and the ground shook.
With that, their attacks counteracted each other.
Nathan furrowed his brows slightly.
His powers are formidable indeed. In fact, one could probably say it's the first time I've encountered such a strong opponent over the years.
Colin and Sevan were also terrified that even their foreheads were beaded with sweat.
As for Kerry, she quickly stood in front of a group of ancient beasts. Knowing that those great powers could easily crush her, she was so nervous that she felt suffocated.
“Huh?” Lothar uttered.
What he intended to achieve did not materialize. Instead, his attack yielded something completely unexpected.
He wanted to dislodge Nathan's mask with the wind from his palms but was unsuccessful. However, he inadvertently caused the one covering Kerry's face to fly off.
Even more unexpected was that the young lady appeared somewhat familiar to him. Why does it seem like I've seen her somewhere before?
Memories swirled through his head, and countless faces flashed across his mind. Then, his eyes lit up as he suddenly remembered everything.
He said slowly, “You're Hermes' disciple, Kerry.”
Her almond-shaped eyes widened when she heard that. She stared at the mysterious Allfather before her in bewilderment and uncertainty, then asked, “How is it that you know my master and me? Who on earth are you?”
He waved his hand dismissively. “It doesn't matter who I am. What matters is that you shouldn't have come here. With you here, there'll be no one to take on Hermes' mantle.”
Kerry bit her lip, then declared loudly, “The reason I've come here is to save my master.”
Lothar glanced at her and the others. “With your skills? That can only be a fool's dream!”
