Due to the vampire outbreak all over Adrune, even the werewolves had the guts to come out to wreak havoc.
For the purpose of discussing a solution to deal with the dark clan and maintain world peace, Eugene IV invited the War Gods across the world to attend the gathering at the Curia's headquarters.
Nathan did not extend his stay in Musbane.
After assigning someone to bring the ashes of Hanson and the other warriors back to the country, he began his journey to the headquarters of the Curia in Salinsburgh.
Several days later, they finally arrived at Salinsburgh.
Citizens of Salinsburgh crowded outside the airport. They were faithful believers of the Curia, and they had come to welcome Nathan and the Holy Maiden.
Eugene IV was there, too. He had brought along a large group of cardinals to welcome them.
The moment Nathan and Hepburn got off the plane, enthusiastic cheers rang out at the airport.
Nathan stepped on the red carpet and made his way toward Eugene IV.
Meanwhile, Hepburn purposely walked a few steps behind Nathan. That was to show her respect for him and to differentiate her status from the latter.
Eugene IV broke into a smile at the sight of Nathan.
He then hurriedly brought his subordinates over to welcome their guest. After making a few taps on his chest to signify a cross, Eugene IV gave Nathan an excited hug. “Our beloved Mr. Cross, it's so great that you can attend the gathering of the War Gods this time.”
“The peace of the world is being destroyed, and humans are facing the threat of extinction. Since you've gathered everyone to come up with a plan, it's only right that I come here to make a tiny contribution.”
Eugene IV let out a hearty laugh. “Mr. Cross, your name holds great power across the world. Even the dark clan trembles at the sound of your name. Your combat prowess alone is comparable to an army of a country. How could you call your contributions tiny? You're too humble, Mr. Cross.”
Nathan said calmly, “You think too highly of me, Pope Eugene.”
Eugene IV let out a hearty chuckle before saying, “Almost all the War Gods from nearly a hundred countries have arrived for the gathering. Let's go, Mr. Cross. It's best not to keep the other War Gods waiting.”
That was when Nathan found out that more than hundreds of War Gods from nearly a hundred countries had arrived.
He was already late.
“Looks like I'm late,” remarked Nathan with a smile.
However, Eugene IV denied, “The gathering is today, and you've arrived on the same day. How is this late? You're just right on time. Please get into the car, Mr. Cross.”
