Wolfric pressed an inconspicuous button on his watch while maintaining a poker face.
Doing that would send a distress call to request assistance from the Special Forces deployed outside. Once the Special Forces received the signal, they would know he was in danger and immediately launch an attack to rescue him.
Unbeknownst to Wolfric, Wael saw his subtle gesture.
Wael grinned and said, “Ha! Admiral Welz, I advise you not to play tricks under my watch. This place is as impregnable as a fortress and guarded by one thousand private armed soldiers. Moreover, since you entered my research institute, I've blocked all the signals of your communication devices. No one will come to save you even if you press your emergency rescue device until it breaks. By the time those men you stationed outside successfully break in, I will have already killed you and left through the secret passage.”
Wolfric's expression darkened at once.
He lifted his hand to undo the top button of his collar and uttered indifferently, “Kill me? Perhaps your brother, Max, is qualified to say that, but you and your minions aren't worthy!”
Wael arched his brows. “Is that so? Men, take him down.”
“Yes, Mr. Wael.”
Several of Wael's subordinates immediately dashed toward Wolfric at lightning speed.
Wolfric was, after all, the God of War of Ariarica, as well as one of the best super-soldiers.
Facing the few experts' assaults, he fought them head-on instead of dodging and hiding.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Wael's men were all sent flying the moment they got within Wolfric's proximity.
Their facial bones were shattered, and they died on the spot before they could even let out any cry of agony.
Wael couldn't help but knit his brows, taking in the one-sided massacre. He gestured with his lips to his remaining subordinates.
Grasping Wael's intention, those men raised their guns and started shooting Wolfric.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Gunshots reverberated as a hail of bullets flew toward Wolfric like raindrops.
Wolfric moved his arms rapidly, creating countless afterimages of his hands and giving him the appearance of a God of War with a thousand hands.
Wael's men fired all the bullets in their guns in one go, and finally, the gunfire stopped.
However, to Wael's and his subordinates' astonishment, Wolfric was unscathed.
