The money was soon transferred into Blossom's bank account.
“Is there anything else we can do for you, Mr. Cross?” Shadow Widow asked with a smile.
“I'm supposed to meet a group of friends here,” Nathan replied.
Shadow Widow froze in confusion at first. It wasn't until she noticed the people dressed in combat gear behind Nathan that she recalled something.
“Ah, yes, I remember now. A few hours ago, a small team showed up here at Nightfire. The person leading that team told me that someone would be meeting them here. Are those your friends, Mr. Cross?”
Nathan flashed her a faint smile. “Probably. Where are they?”
“At the nightclub. Come on, I'll show you the way,” Shadow Widow replied.
On top of having a main lobby, Nightfire Underground City was also divided into many different areas.
One of those areas was a fairly huge nightclub.
The place was dimly lit and had music playing in the background while hundreds of people either drank or danced away.
Most of them were either bounty hunters or mercenaries.
Nathan and the others received quite a lot of attention when Shadow Widow led them into the nightclub. After all, it wasn't every day that they saw her being so polite to people.
“Your friends are in that private room over there, Mr. Cross. In order to avoid any misunderstandings, I'll go in and make an announcement first,” Shadow Widow told him.
Nathan nodded. “Sure.”
Shadow Widow then made her way into the private room while Nathan and the others waited outside.
Suddenly, Massimo showed up out of nowhere and called out to Nathan with a smile, “Mr. Cross?”
Nathan shot him a cold glance. “Did you need something from me?”
Massimo shook his head profusely. “No, not at all. I just wanted to apologize to you for my rude behavior earlier. I didn't realize you were this powerful!”
“You didn't really offend me, so there's no need for you to apologize,” Nathan replied with a smile.
Wolfric let out a disdainful snort when he saw Blossom standing next to Nathan. “You sure are a brave one bringing her all the way here, Captain Cross!” he said while walking up to Nathan with the rest of his crew.
“I like to do a thorough job when helping others. Well, now that she's safe here, I suppose it's time we say goodbye,” Nathan replied in the most matter-of-fact tone possible.
Blossom had disappointment written all over her face when she heard that.
He's right. I'm safe now, and Nathan has done me a favor by providing me with the money for the medical bills. I can finally leave this vampire-occupied territory for good, and yet, I feel disappointed for some reason.
Colin, who saw right through Blossom's expressions, let out a silent sigh in response. You're not the first woman to fall for Mr. Cross, and I know you won't be the last.
Nathan then had Shadow Widow help make the arrangements so Blossom could leave the vampire-occupied territory safely.
Shadow Widow was more than happy to befriend a powerful individual like Nathan, so she agreed to his request without any hesitation.
It took Blossom every ounce of willpower she had to suppress her tears as she thanked Nathan again before leaving.
Nathan, Wolfric, and the others made their way into the private room to discuss official business.
