As expected, after Penny heard him, a trace of unresolved worry appeared in her eyes. She gently reminded him, “Promise me to take good care of yourself and make sure to come back alive. Our second child is waiting to see you when you return.”
Nathan solemnly said, “Sure. I promise you.”
Penny continued, “You don't have to worry about me. My parents are taking care of me, as well as Kylie and Ava. The only thing you need to do is to come back safe and sound. That's all that matters.”
Nathan nodded. “Okay.”
At this moment, a grimace suddenly appeared on Penny's face. He saw Leah on the screen and exclaimed, “Her water broke. The baby is coming! Kylie, hurry up and call the doctor!”
Worry was written all over Nathan's face, but he could do nothing to help. Fortunately, a middle-aged female doctor, accompanied by several nurses, hurriedly rushed over. Then, Penny was taken to the delivery room. Although Penny had entered the delivery room, she still held her phone.
Lying on the delivery bed with a pained expression, she forced herself to say a few more words to Nathan during the video call. However, for some unknown reason, the screen suddenly froze. Nathan was stunned and quickly shouted, “Hello? Hello? Honey, can you hear me?”
However, the screen suddenly froze and prompted an interrupted connection.
Nathan was taken aback and realized there was no signal on his phone.
What's going on?
Nathan's phone was military-grade which commanders usually used. No matter whether in the desolate desert or a remote mountain village, military satellite signals could be received. Theoretically, as long as any special equipment did not block the signal, it was impossible to have no signal.
