Upon hearing this, Hepburn was startled.
Unexpectedly, not only did the Curia send people to secretly investigate Nathan, but even Ariarica had set their sights on Nathan.
No wonder, during their recent visit to the Curia site, Nathan, with his heightened senses, had detected the presence of a spy. Colin promptly went to investigate the matter.
But they hadn't caught the spy lurking in the shadows; they only found a telescope and other instruments.
At that time, Colin was even angry to the point he made the call and demanded the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor to send people to thoroughly investigate the matter.
Unexpectedly, the people secretly tailing Nathan turned out to be the ones right in front of Hepburn.
Hepburn's pretty face was frosty as she looked at Holmes. She said coldly, “I have no idea what you're talking about. But I really don't like your face. Please, take your people and disappear from my sight immediately.”
Upon hearing this, Holmes chuckled.
“Ms. Hepburn, I can't believe that you're still behaving in a holier-than-thou manner! What a pity this isn't the Curia, and I'm not one of your followers. Your tricks won't work on me. If you refuse to honestly share your findings with me, then I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to accompany me back to Ariarica. I promise you, once we get there, I'll have a hundred ways to make you talk. I could even get you to spill every detail of your private life, like how many times you use the bathroom in a night.”
Hepburn's face turned ashen as she cried out, “You're shameless! I am the Holy Maiden of the Curia, and this is Eurasia. Would you dare to act recklessly here?”
Holmes sneered. “The holy maiden of the Curia means nothing to me. So what if this is Eurasia? Nathan left you here, so you must have offended him. Do you really think anyone will still come and save you?”
Upon hearing these words, Hepburn grimaced.
Holmes snapped his fingers and instructed his subordinates, “Someone please escort Miss Hepburn to the car and do it politely.”
Right as he said that, two of his subordinates, a strong man resembling a gorilla and a tall but thin man, walked toward Hepburn.
The strong man grinned and leered at Hepburn. “Tsk, tsk. I've heard tales of the Holy Maiden's unparalleled beauty. Seeing you today tells me that the tales are true. You're even more stunning than the star of the nightclub.”
The thin man next to him grinned and said, “She's the Holy Maiden, not a nightclub dancer. Our general just told us to be more civilized!”
The strong man said with a grin, “Don't worry. I'll be very gentle.”
After he finished speaking, he and the thin man were about to make a move on Hepburn, intending to capture and disarm her before taking her away.
