At the presidential palace in Eurasia, within the Oval Office, Nathan was engrossed in reading some documents when Penny, dressed in a green dress, walked in carrying a cup of steaming hot cocoa.

Nathan lifted his head. His usually stern face immediately blossomed into a smile as warm as a spring breeze upon seeing his wife.

“Penny, why are you here?”

Penny said with a hint of annoyance, “Don't I have to come? Colin told me that you've been working so hard you haven't even had dinner. Those National Guards didn't dare to disturb you, so they could only report to me.”

Nathan suddenly realized he was so busy that day that he forgot to eat again.

In fact, he had been forgetting to eat often lately. Being busy was one reason, but another was that he now had a vampiric constitution and didn't have much need for food.

Nathan laughed and said, “All right, just leave it on the table for now. I'll drink it as soon as I finish reading this report.”

Penny rolled her eyes at Nathan in response. “Don't pull that with me. Last time, you didn't even eat the meal I brought you. It got cold. This time, I'll be supervising you personally!”

Supervising? What does she mean?

Nathan looked at his wife in astonishment.

Penny's pretty face blushed slightly. No one else was in the study. It was just the two of them, a young married couple.

She slightly lifted her charming face, her lips exuding a subtle fragrance.

Nathan's heart fluttered, and he leaned in to steal a kiss.

However, right then, a firm knock sounded at the door, followed by the untimely loud voice of Colin. “Mr. Cross, Wolfric, Leopold, and the other God of Wars urgently request to see you.”

Startled by the voice of Colin outside the door, Penny jumped like a frightened deer. She quickly escaped from Nathan's embrace and hurriedly straightened her clothes.

Nathan's face also turned gloomy.

He cursed Colin in his mind. How could this guy have such terrible timing?

With a suppressed dissatisfaction, he asked Colin, who was outside the door, in a deep voice, “Haven't Wolfric and the others already taken away a Demigod each? Why are they back again? What else do they want?”

Outside the door, Colin lowered his voice and said, “It seems that they have encountered trouble. They were attacked by the Gods, and both Wolfric and Leopold suffered heavy losses. Both of their aliens were rescued by the Gods. They've come to see you, probably bearing news and likely to share their grievances too!”
