Masking his true condition with a display of discomfort, Nathan remarked, "I believe it's simply due to a lack of rest from last night and perhaps a few too many drinks. I'm feeling somewhat dizzy at the moment."
While speaking, Nathan discreetly tapped into his internal energy, initiating a covert process to rid his body of the poison.
The poison was expelled through his pores, giving the appearance to onlookers that he was sweating profusely.
Observing Nathan's sweat-drenched appearance, Bryon mistakenly believed that Nathan was on the verge of collapse. Concealing his delight behind a mask of concern, Bryon instructed, "It seems you've had a bit too much to drink, Mr. Cross. Jessica, what are you waiting for? Bring something to help him sober up. Let Mr. Cross have a drink to clear his head."
"Right away, sir," Jessica quickly understood and fetched a drink laced with another dose of potent poison.
Smiling, she offered it to Nathan, saying, "Mr. Cross, this should help with your hangover."
As Jessica attempted to serve him the tainted drink by bringing the cup to his lips, Nathan abruptly grabbed her hand, causing her to shudder and look at him questioningly. Her voice quivered as she asked, "Mr. Cross?"
Nathan lifted his head, his gaze piercing and sober, devoid of any signs of intoxication.
"What is this?"
Trying to maintain composure, Jessica insisted, "This is a hangover remedy. May I assist you with it?"
With a sneer, Nathan retorted, "Ha, I'm not drunk. In fact, it seems like you could use this more than I. Why don't you drink it?"
Caught off guard, Jessica's expression dramatically transformed.
Before she could protest, Nathan acted swiftly. He wrestled the cup from her grasp and, holding her mouth open, forced her to consume half of the poisoned beverage.
Gulp, gulp, gulp!
Amidst the stunned reactions from Bryon and the others, Jessica had already ingested half of the tainted beverage, thanks to Nathan's quick actions.
Bryon, simultaneously shocked and enraged, shouted, "Nathan, what are you doing? Release her at once!"
The room erupted into chaos as the War Gods and warmongers abruptly rose to their feet.
