Brutus didn't respond to what Nathan had said. He just calmly tidied his messy hair that was blocking his vision. Then, he raised the wine glass and drink it all up. After that, he put the wine glass on the table.
After a long pause, he finally spoke in a hoarse voice, "Thank you for the wine. I was sent to kill you. It's either you or me who is going down today. I have nothing else to say to you other than that."
Nathan nodded, "Fine. Let me ask you one last question. You've been following me since we were in Channing. Why didn't you kill me earlier? Why now?"
In the same hoarse voice, Brutus replied, "That's because you're with your child. I do not want to kill you in front of your child.”
Nathan gave Brutus a respectful glance, "And with that, I'll drink another glass with you."
Then Zach put three bottles of wine in front of them. He said loudly, "Drinking from the glass is no fun. We should all drink from the bottles directly. After that, let's get on with our business!"
With that, he picked up the bottle first.
Then, Nathan did the same thing too.
Brutus was like a warrior from ancient times. A warrior who was willing to die for his closest comrade.
He was here to kill Nathan, nothing else.
He didn't care about Nathan's real identity and whether he was great at fighting or how many people he had backing him up. Brutus couldn't care less.
Following suit, Brutus clinked his bottle with Nathan and Zach. Then they gulped the entire bottle down.
They were guzzling the drinks like plain water as if they were having a competition.
Nathan and Brutus finished the drink first, while Zach still had about half of the wine in his bottle.
Subsequently, Nathan and Brutus both put the empty bottles on the table at the same time!
As Brutus put down the bottle on the table, he placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. Then, the sword extended in his hands in the direction of Nathan's neck.
Nathan was aware of what was coming at him. As he put down the bottle on the table, he reached out to pick up one of the silverwares on the table too. He used a fork to block the sword attack from Brutus.
Brutus's pupils expanded in shock and terror. He had once fought over thousands of people, and nobody had ever been able to take more than three hits from him.
However Nathan did it with ease!
As Brutus was amazed at Nathan's fighting skill, gunshots rang behind them.
