Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 657

Nathan was touched after noticing his wife's resolve to face this with him despite her fears. "Don't worry, honey. I told you that not even Bachok can do anything." He comforted her, "If he doesn't come, then that will be the end of it. If he does, I will find him, and I will make him grovel and beg for forgiveness over his brother's unacceptable behavior."

The Smiths gasped at that bold declaration, for they thought Nathan was arrogant. He wants General Bachok from Avalon to grovel at Penny? Is this a joke?

Penny smiled bitterly. "I know you're trying to protect me, honey, but you don't have to go so far for that. I'll be content if Bachok would let us go. Beg for my forgiveness? Impossible."

Nathan smiled confidently. "Don't worry. If I say he's going to grovel, then he's going to grovel."

Sean and his family shook their heads, for they thought Nathan had taken overconfidence to another level.

A plane from Avalon slowly descended on Alberesque's international airport. A while later, Bachok and his entourage of a hundred men disembarked from the plane grandly. Under the airstair, a long red carpet unfurled for them.

Lenard and his men shouted, "Welcome to the South, General Bachok!"

Bachok looked at him arrogantly. "Mr. Smith, have you brought the one who injured my brother here?"

Lenard smiled bitterly. "I have failed you, General Bachok. I didn't manage to capture Nathan, and all my men, as well as my son, are beaten up."
