After ending the call, I emerged, and Wanda remained, conversing with
Grant. His expression remained somber. After a long pause, he raised the issue
again.
“Have you concluded with your friend? Alter that designation, now.”
I glanced at him, surprised. He did care, did he not? I nodded, but he
remained unaware of my true intentions. Grant accepted it as agreement and
relaxed, a change Wanda observed.
Her expression shifted. She hadn’t expected Grant to react so strongly.
“It is still early. Rosie, Grant, allow me to treat you to a meal and a film.
Thank you for your support.”
I knew Wanda’s motive: to demonstrate Grant’s kindness towards her.
I refused. First, I did not wish to participate in her game. Second, I had
pressing matters to attend to. But Wanda would not relent. With a mournful
expression, she turned to Grant.
“Rosie is still angered by me, is she not? I was selfish and foolish… Rosie, I
apologize.”
She began to cry, prompting Grant’s sympathy. Then, he cast a disapproving

I sighed. If I refused, Wanda would weep, and I would be cast as the villain.
It was mealtime, so we went to a restaurant. A seafood establishment. In the
private room, I observed Grant.
He avoided my gaze, bestowing tenderness upon Wanda as she ordered. He
should feel guilt. He knew my aversion to seafood; yet, he acquiesced solely
because Wanda favored it.
I drank only water while Wanda devoured the shrimp Grant shelled for her.
She looked at me, puzzled.
“Rosie, it is delicious. Why do you not partake?”
I smirked, about to speak, when Grant changed the subject. Another plate of
shrimp appeared before Wanda. She thanked him shyly, forgetting me.
After the meal, Wanda dragged us to a cinema and selected a horror film.
Another manipulation.
“Aaah!” Wanda screamed repeatedly, seizing Grant’s hand, crying that she
