Caroline sat there lost in thought for a while after Nathan left the mansion, then went upstairs and into her room. 

She walked over to the window and extended her delicate, pale hand to slowly pull back a corner of the golden curtain, peeking downstairs through the gap. 

The man got into his Rolls–Royce Phantom, started the engine, and drove away. 

Soon, his cold figure vanished from her sight, as if he had never been there in the first place. 

Caroline stared for a long time in the direction where he had vanished, her figure elongated by the lights. 

Caroline’s life remained the same after Nathan left Yarwood and returned to Doveston. She placed her hand on her flat belly and decided to give birth to the baby. 

She adored children, and the child was hers. She had the right to give birth to the baby. 

After all, she hadn’t had a home since she was a child, and she didn’t have any parents. Maybe she was lonely and wished for the child to keep her company.
