Callum said gently, “Trenton regrets what he said too. Give him some time, Camryn. He’ll grow up and start to understand you.”

Trenton’s parents and sister had gone to jail partly because of Camryn. It was normal for him to find it difficult to accept the truth. After all, he was only seventeen years old. He had not been weathered by society and was not capable of processing so much shock.

Camryn did not say a word.

Callum accompanied her on a stroll around the garden. Camryn’s mood improved greatly as they walked on the shaded path with the cool breeze caressing them and listened to the passers-by chatting.

She felt upset but did not harbor resentment toward her brother.

She did not even want to clear up her brother’s misunderstanding and complaint.

When suspicion arose and one was devoid of trust in a person, one would not believe the words of another, no matter how much explanation was given. That would be the case unless one was shown effort and their promise was fulfilled with concrete actions.

After Trenton graduated from university, Camryn would let him work at Newman Enterprise. Whether success or failure was in his cards depended on himself. She would be willing to hand Newman Enterprise over to him if he were a capable person.

Camryn was blind. It was inconvenient for her to manage the company.

She simply wanted justice, to avenge her father, and inherit the assets that belonged to her father.

For example, her grandparents had left the Newmans’ family villa to her father, who in turn had left a will that all of his assets would go to his only daughter. Therefore, the villa was Camryn’s.

It was hers, yet someone else took it away by force. She was willing to endure all humiliation to get the house back under her name. In the future, she would be the ultimate decision-maker of everything about the villa.

Camryn did not try to snatch things that were not hers, such as the villas that were her uncle’s. Those belonged to Trenton and Carrie.
