Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 1949

Caroline quickly said, “Mr. Hayden, your bodyguards didn’t hurt me. I’m fine.”

She stole a glance at Hayden. Then, she swiftly looked down with a shy expression. She said softly, “Mr. Hayden, I’m really sorry. I was the one walking so carelessly that I hit your bodyguard.”

“I should be the one saying sorry. The party is crowded, and what’s more, I brought along so many bodyguards. Because of that, you accidentally hit my bodyguard. Luckily, you’re fine.”

Hayden’s treatment of young ladies who admired her was cold and distant. She would not treat anyone gently.

However, Hayden softened her tone in spite of herself when speaking to Caroline. Hayden’s beautiful face was less cold as well.

When others saw the scene, they felt that the young lady of the Fishers was using the most old-fashioned method in the book, namely hitting Hayden’s people, to attract Hayden’s attention.

“That countrywoman is eyeing Hayden, huh?”

“She’s now the young lady of the Fishers, and she’ll be the head of the family in the future. It’s natural for her to eye Hayden. Hayden is so excellent that even Mr. Kevin is obsessed with him. It’s not surprising that Caroline is eyeing him.”

“Exactly. If I had a daughter, I’d hope for Hayden to be my son-in-law too.”

“Madam Fisher brought Celine along.”

Someone spotted Madam Fisher approaching with her adopted child, Celine. She softly reminded others to stop discussing Caroline in case Madam Fisher overheard it.

Caroline had a great hearing. She heard what people around her had whispered.
