Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 1999

Caroline heard Celine’s shout, so she stopped in her tracks and turned to look at Celine. After some thought, she walked back and went in front of Celine.

She leaned slightly toward Celine’s ear and said softly, “What’s the use of them loving you? I’m the one who will succeed the family head!”

Once she became the family head, the first thing she would do would be to make Celine change her last name. She would not let Celine be a Fisher anymore, and she would ask back all the money Celine got from the Fishers little by little. Lastly, she would kick Celine out of the family.

Why should the person who harmed her still be able to enjoy glory and wealth in the family?

Her parents and brothers had been with this fake daughter for more than twenty years and had affection for one another. However, she did not have feelings for Celine, so she would not show her any mercy.

Caroline was able to establish her company after graduating from university. She spent many years stumbling along the business world before she was found by the Fishers to acknowledge her origin.

She knew that to be merciful to her enemy was to be cruel to herself.

Celine was her enemy, and she knew very well that Celine was not resigned to the outcome and wanted to compete with her for the position of the family head.

Moreover, her father, brothers, and sisters-in-law were all standing on Celine’s side. Nonetheless, Celine would be very wrong if she thought they were truly helping her. Caroline’s brothers simply wanted her and Celine to kill each other while they sat back and reaped the benefits.

They only wanted to change the rule of women of the Fishers being the family head.

Caroline did not care about her dad, brothers, and sisters-in-law loving Celine more.

It was not that she was heartless, but because she saw the truth clearly.

Nothing else mattered as long as her mother was firmly on her side and allowed her to engage with the family business.

In the Fishers, one only needed the family head’s approval.

Madam Fisher treated her averagely on the surface and seemed to favor Celine as what outsiders saw, but she gave her everything she should.
