Serenity smiled with understanding. “Jas said the same too.”
“Elisa, is Aunt Audrey in?”
Serenity took the bags and went into the house with Elisa.
“My mom’s in the house.”
Elisa replied in a whisper, “My mom has been silent lately, but she still can’t accept that Remy and I are dating. Seren, you must grab the chance and help me put in a few good words about Remy in front of my mom.
“She wouldn’t listen to what we say, but she might if it’s from you or Liberty.”
Serenity happily agreed. Then, she asked, “Has Aunt Audrey stopped making a fuss? Did something happen that I wasn’t aware of?”
“I’ll let you know later. I’ll only tell you about it, so you must keep it a secret. I’m not even letting Jasmine know. If she finds out, my peaceful days will be over.”
Jasmine was Julian’s sister-in-law. If she were to discover that he had been sending Elisa various gifts recently, she would definitely tell Josh about it. After that, Josh would inform his uncle, and the entire Bucham family would find out.
Mr. Bucham was obsessed with finding the girl that could rescue his son. If he knew about Julian’s actions, he would probably propose a marriage between the two families immediately.
Mrs. Stone wished for her daughter to marry a man from Wiltspoon, but she was unwilling to hand her daughter to someone of Julian’s background.
It was mainly because Julian’s gaze toward Eliza had no signs of love in it at all. His eyes were calm.
