Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2088

After a few days of recovery, Hank’s mental state had improved slightly compared to when he first woke up, but he still could not get out of bed to walk.

He had too many stab wounds on his body.

To survive Jessica’s stabbing was already a miracle. The doctors said it would take some more time before he could get out of bed and move around.

Having experienced life and death, Hank also knew who was right and who was wrong, but he did not blame Jessica.

Ultimately, it was he who had caused trouble for Jessica.

In Jessica’s words, he was the one who flirted with her at first.

If Hank had not taken any action, Jessica would have faithfully remained his secretary. They would not have ended up together, and so many things could have been avoided.

He had given up on the best wife he could ask for.

He married Jessica. Yet, he could not provide the life that she desired. They lived unhappily, constantly quarreling and causing chaos. Jessica would go crazy and feel like stabbing him to death, wanting to drag him down to hell. Hank could still understand her feelings.

Hank had escaped mortal danger and could speak again. He told his parents that once he had recovered, he would issue a letter of forgiveness to help Jessica’s lawyer fight for a lighter sentence.

He insisted on his decision despite getting scolded by Mr. and Mrs. Brown.

His parents were so angry they wanted to abandon him and go back to their hometown.

“Mom, did Liberty say she would bring Sonny over to see Hank today? It’s already eleven, why haven’t they arrived? Should we come back tomorrow?”

Chelsea looked at the time and told her mother, “I’m hungry too, and I was waiting for Liberty to come so we could go out to eat together.”

She also wanted to visit Liberty’s new store.

Now that she knew the location, she could come to the city and have a delicious meal at Liberty’s new restaurant to satisfy her cravings when it was opened.

The last thing Liberty had to worry about is money.

She would definitely treat them to a meal in a five-star restaurant. Ah, Chelsea had never dined in a five-star establishment in her entire life.

“Liberty said that she’ll bring Sonny along to visit after school ends on Saturday. They should be here soon. Liberty’s probably very busy too, considering that her business might be better during the weekends. We’ll have to wait until she’s done with her duties,” Mrs. Brown said.

She then reminded her son, “Hank, remember to put on an act so that Liberty feels sorry for you.”

Lying on the bed with the IV drip attached, Hank replied despondently, “Mom, I haven’t even divorced Jessica yet.”

“You’ll have to do it sooner or later. She was already after your life, what are you doing not divorcing her already? How many more times do you want to get stabbed by her to understand she’s bad news? And, how could you issue her a letter of forgiveness? She almost stabbed you to death, and you still forgive her? Do you know how much you worried your Dad and I? Look at all these white strands of hair you gave us.”

Sometimes, Olivia wanted to pry open her son’s head and see what was going on inside the thick skull of his.
