Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2106

Elisa thought of how she was her mother’s only daughter. If her mother reclaimed the position of the matriarch, Elisa would eventually have that seat too.

She was not that capable.

Before her mother did something big, Elisa gave Audrey a heads-up in advance. “Mom, if you really want to take back the position of the Fisher family head, don’t even think about making me your successor. You know very well what kind of daughter you have. I can’t afford to lead a family.

“Go find Serenity instead. Give her a few years and she’ll be able to do it.”

Elisa dragged her good friend out as a shield and thought, ‘Better her than me.’

Audrey glared at her daughter and said, “Serenity is very busy and is under a lot of pressure now. She will be the lady in charge of the York family in the future. She has it hard enough. How can I hand her the burden of the Fisher family as well?”

Elisa said, “I don’t care. Either way, I’m not capable of that. Those shoes are too big for me to fill. If Serenity won’t work, then let Liberty do it instead. Liberty is the eldest of us three. The eldest daughters of the Fishers are always the most amazing, right?

“Between you and my aunt, you’re more amazing. You only gave birth to me, but Aunt Lisa had two daughters. Liberty is her eldest, which means she’s the most outstanding among us. Let Liberty be the successor if it turns out that we’re related to the Fisher family.”

Elisa thought that it was feasible and smiled. “If Liberty becomes the Fisher family head, her family status will be well matched with Mr. Lewis, and Mrs. Lewis won’t put too much pressure on her if they get together. It’s killing two birds with one stone.”

Julian said, “Her last name is Hunt.”

“And my last name is Stone. None of us have the Fisher last name, but we can change our surname.”

Darrell glared at his daughter.

Elisa said, “Don’t look at me like that, Dad. If Mom really wants me to pick up the torch, then I’ll have no choice but to become a Fisher. If you don’t want your only daughter to change her last name, then persuade Mom and don’t let her make me take up the torch. I’m not strong enough to do it.”
