That night, the couple was chatting till the wee hours. Eventually, Serenity was so tired that she fell into a slumber, which put an end to their conversation.

The next day, Serenity was woken by some door knocks.

The knocks were similar to those that happened at midnight a year ago. She was under the impression that Zachary would not return, so she locked the door. However, she ended up being awakened by Zachary’s knocks on the door.

She opened her eyes, tilted her head, and looked at her side. Zachary was not around.

She supposed that he had gotten up early to make her breakfast.

The knocking soon ceased as the door was opened.

Zachary opened the door, only to see his nana. He greeted her.

Grandma May pushed him away and entered the house directly while asking, “Where’s Seren?”

“She’s still sleeping. Did you spend the night traveling over here? You came at such an early hour. How do you know we’re here?”

Upon learning that Serenity was still sleeping, Grandma May softened her voice. As soon as Zachary moved closer to her, Grandma May slapped his arm and told him off, “How dare you take Seren to the city so late at night. Luckily, she’s in good health. If anything had happened to her, I would deal with you.

“Now that Seren is pregnant, I must come back. Although it’s important to choose partners for Peter and Dylan, Seren is more important. Is Seren fine?”

Actually, Grandma May only arrived this morning.

Noticing the absence of Zachary’s car that he usually drove, Grandma May guessed that the couple had left Wildridge Manor. Only after asking the security guard on duty did she find out that the couple left the manor last night.

Grandma May headed straight to Brynfield.
