Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2243

“I believe you have better prospects in expanding your restaurant chain since you love cooking and want to make delicious and affordable food for people. However, you must be stricter with management and develop your own management style because a good leader is like a glue that holds the team together. Liberty, I believe you will succeed, but don’t be in a hurry. Take things slow. Rome wasn’t built overnight. We will gain more experience as we move forward.”

Liberty nodded. “You have a point, Mr. Lewis. I will pace myself. The last thing I want is a costly mistake of losing everything.”

Age was still on her side. She could work her way in the industry for another decade before considering diversifying into a five-star hotel.

Liberty wheeled Duncan out of the restaurant and stopped to shut and lock the glass door before pulling down the security shutters.

“I’ll do it, Ms. Hunt.”

The Lewises’ bodyguard came forth and pulled down the shutters for Liberty. Liberty performed the last security check.

“Thank you.”

“Don’t mention it, Ms. Hunt.”

The bodyguard then turned to Duncan, noticing Sonny sleeping in his arms. For a moment, the bodyguard was unsure whether Duncan would go with Ms. Hunt or head home.

“It’s late, Mr. Lewis. You must be tired. Go home and get some rest. I’ll take Sonny home.”

Liberty approached, bent over, and took her sleeping son from Duncan.

Sonny was fast asleep, not even stirring when his mother picked him up. He remained in slumberland, now against his mother’s shoulder.

“Liberty, I can’t let you and Sonny travel on your own. I’ll give you both a lift.” Duncan could not relax when it came to their safety.

Even though people would think twice before harming Liberty and Sonny because of her ties to powerful families, they could never be too careful.

Liberty took the jacket from the bodyguard and tucked Sonny under it to keep him warm.

She turned back and urged the bodyguard, “Make sure the AC isn’t set too low later.”

The bodyguard respectfully acknowledged her request.

Everybody could see how good Duncan was to Liberty. Although Liberty had not accepted Duncan’s feelings, she was not completely blind to them. She still cared for Duncan.

Liberty gently closed the door. After much thought, she told the bodyguard, “I’ll help you to carry Mr. Lewis into the car.”

Duncan was a large man, so it would be difficult for one person to help him into the car when his leg muscles had not recovered.

It usually took two bodyguards to follow him and take care of his needs.
