Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2265

Liberty said, “The novelty has worn off, I guess. He has to wake up early for preschool every day and has homework after school too. He doesn’t have time to go to his aunt’s place for some fun.”

“You can't cram too much into Sonny's schedule. He already has self-defense classes on weekends. Three-year-olds learn through play. We want to make sure he has a happy childhood. Putting too much pressure on him to study will take the joy out of it.”

“I don’t think I’m pushing him too hard. He only has to complete a page of homework every day. I signed him up for self-defense classes before preschool started. My hope is that he plays and enjoys his childhood years. I didn’t sign him up for other classes unless he’s interested to learn.”

Duncan said with a smile, “You know, kids. They can’t make up their minds about preschool. Give it time, and he’ll get used to it and stop talking about not attending.”

Liberty remembered how the young Elisa refused to go to school so much that her parents and brothers had to carry her into the car.

“I'll give him time. I told him that he needs to keep going when he decides on something. He can't just give up easily.”

“You raised Serenity well. I have no doubt you will raise Sonny well too.”

Duncan stopped advocating for Sonny. The little boy enjoyed everyone's affection and didn't want to go to school after realizing it wasn't fun, but that would not do. Someone had to be the bad guy and manage him.

Liberty, as a mother, found the right balance in educating her child. Duncan believed Liberty would raise Sonny to be a decent human being.

“Just disregard whatever I said. It’s drunk talk.”

Sure, he had a few glasses to drink last night, but he could hold his liquor.

“Come and have breakfast.”

Liberty put the spoon in his hand.

“I’m not delivering breakfast anymore if you pull that act again. I’ll let you starve. What do I care? I’m not the one starving myself.”
