Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2356

“Thank you.”

Elisa accepted the bouquet and thanked Remy before saying, “You knew I was with Serenity, and yet you bought me flowers. I feel embarrassed to carry the flowers into the house.”

“There’s nothing to feel embarrassed about. Serenity is the witness to our love story. She’ll be happy for you that we’re closer than ever. She won’t laugh at you.”

Remy held her hand as they walked into the house together.

“That’s true. Seren only wants me to be happy. I know that she blames herself that Zachary and I couldn’t be together, believing she stole my happiness. I can tell, even if she doesn’t say it.”

Elisa added, “She got the wrong idea. I have never placed the blame on her. Zachary and I are not meant to be. Besides, Zachary has never loved me or promised me anything.

“To be honest, I don’t think Zachary would even give me a second glance if I wasn’t related to Serenity.”

Remy understood and said, “I get why Serenity would think that. She can only let go of the past when we find happiness in our marriage. At least, she can finally stop blaming herself.”

Elisa was in pursuit of Zachary long before he got married to Serenity. This led Serenity to feel that she had stolen Elisa’s happiness.

Serenity believed that Zachary and Elisa were compatible in terms of their social status. She thought they were a match made in heaven.

Elisa had poured her feelings out to Serenity several times, reassuring that Serenity did not come in her way of happiness. Although Serenity seemed to have put the matter aside, she could not shake the feeling of guilt. Serenity would finally move on once Elisa found her happiness.

“I’m so grateful that Zachary wasn’t interested in you, or I wouldn’t have had a chance. Elisa, no matter what others think, you’re the best girl for me. I’m so lucky that you love me and that I get to spend the rest of my life with you.”

Remy brought Elisa’s hand to his lips for a kiss.

Elisa replied with a smile, “Alright now. Let’s not talk about the past. We should move forward.”

“Yes, we should indeed.”
