Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2369

Brenda and Amy, who were once the young ladies of the Newmans, had lost their arrogance and elegance.

They stood at the villa’s entrance in ordinary clothing with not a piece of expensive jewelry in sight. Neither were any Hermès bags.

They even took a taxi over because they did not have a car.

The two families had sold everything they could to pay off their debts and had no choice but to live in rented houses.

Although Amy and Brenda were born into the Newmans when they were not as rich as now, they were still well-off. The sisters had never experienced hardships or financial struggles.

They obtained a generous amount of money from their parents when they got married because then the family had become wealthier. Their husbands’ families were equally rich.

Now, despite being grandmothers, they were forced to live in poor conditions after losing their wealth.

Job finding was difficult due to their old age and pampered attitude. The only job available for them was to be cleaners.

Previously, a cleaner’s salary would only last Amy and Brenda a few days.

Practicing frugality was hard for them as they were used to luxury.

Amy and Brenda could not stand the tough life. They returned brazenly, wanting to ask Camryn to let them off the hook.

Realization dawned on them that the most ruthless people in the Newman family were not their brother and sister-in-law but Camryn.

Camryn was lucky enough to marry into the York family despite being blind. She had lived pitifully for the past twenty years but from now onward, she would be able to enjoy a luxurious life.

Perhaps the heavens were compensating her for everything she had gone through.
