Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2421

Hugh muttered, “Are you preparing to get married? Even if you do get married in the future, you can continue managing Queen Enterprise. Mom and Dad only have the both of us. We’ll definitely have to divide our family’s assets equally between us. Since half of Queen Enterprise belongs to you, I think it’s best if our positions remain unchanged.”

Hayden said, “Can’t I take a back seat after working tirelessly for so many years? You’re a man. You should shoulder the responsibility given to you.”

“I don’t think taking over the company is my responsibility alone. You have inheritance rights too. When will you get married? I can stand in while you’re on your honeymoon or when you’re pregnant.

“Wait. Kevin should be the one stepping up. He’s the one who’s taking you away from me.”

After speaking, Hugh had to endure another slap to the arm from Hayden.

“Kevin doesn’t owe you anything. Stop finding excuses and return to Mom and Dad’s side. Even if you don’t want to get to know other businessmen, you can look around to see if any ladies here are to your liking. You’re getting old. It’s time to settle down.”

“I think Ms. Crawford is great…”

Hugh stopped mid-sentence and chuckled when Hayden glared at him.

He did not fall in love with Quinn at first sight. He simply admired her because she had a different charm to her and wanted to befriend her.

“You have many lady friends. You don’t need another one. You’re free to approach her if you can bear Mr. Bucham’s wrath, but don’t come looking for me if anything happens. I won’t clean up after you or intervene unless Mr. Bucham beats you up badly.”

“You’re so cruel, Hay. I’ll stay away from Ms. Crawford to protect my life.”

Hugh already had many close female friends. There was no need for him to befriend Quinn.

She belonged to Julian. It would be in Hugh’s best interest not to go against Julian and get on his bad side.

“I’m leaving. Don’t miss me.”

Hayden could not help but laugh. “I won’t miss you. Get lost.”
