Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2565

Martin smiled and said, “Indeed this is a good thing, a huge and wonderful thing. We’re very happy. It’s getting late, Callum. Take Camryn inside to complete the paperwork. The staff will be getting off work soon.”

Prompted by their parents, Callum held Camryn’s hand while accepting the household registration permit that Rosella handed over along with the ring he had ordered in advance. Together with Camryn, he entered the city hall.

Martin and Rosella waited outside for the two to come out.

He tilted his head and said to his wife, “This reminds me of when we came here to get married thirty-two years ago. It feels like just yesterday, but in the blink of an eye, our eldest son has also walked in here. Time flies, and we are growing old.”

With Rosella’s hand in his, he said, “I’ve said it before, we will grow old together.”

Rosella was moved. She said, “Yes, time really flies. I always feel like I’m only eighteen, but my son is already thirty. We are getting older, and we can’t deny it.”

“You don’t look old at all. In my eyes, you are like Aphrodite, forever young and beautiful.”

Rosella had taken exceptional care of her body, and standing next to Callum, people might think they were siblings.

Although Martin had also taken good care of himself, due to his previous heavy involvement in the family business and various other responsibilities, he had some gray hair.

After retirement, at Rosella’s repeated request, he dye his hair black.

Even so, he still seemed to be a decade older than his wife when they stood side by side, despite only being a year apart.

Rosella chuckled at her husband’s compliments. “I’d like to be eighteen every year too, but unfortunately, I can’t. No matter how well I take care of myself, I will still gradually grow old.”

“I’ll grow old together with you, so don’t worry. I’m even older than you.”

Rosella chuckled, “I’m not worried. As long as you’re by my side, I’ve nothing to worry about.”

He said something similar to her when they married all those years ago.

Several decades had passed, and his words still reverberated in her ears. He had kept his promise all these years.
