Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2617

“Did you do something to her that made her come hunting for you?”

Dylan asked, “A girl? What was her name?”

“She didn’t tell me.

“Did you steal something from her or take advantage of her? She gritted her teeth whenever she mentioned your name. She must’ve had a score to settle with you.”

Upon hearing that the girl did not mention why she was looking for him, Dylan said, “Do you think I’m that sort of person, Callum? Why would I steal from someone when we have everything? It’s good enough that the opposite doesn’t happen.

“I can’t possibly have taken advantage of the girl. She must’ve gotten the wrong person. I don’t know many young girls. I mainly interact with middle-aged women.”

Most career-oriented women who could discuss business with him were over forty years old.

Callum said, “Is she the target Nana had assigned to you?”

Dylan said guiltily, “No. Absolutely not. I haven’t even started anything. The target Nana gave me is a rich family’s daughter. However, the woman who I always dream of isn’t the one Nana assigned to me.

“I’m scared to be the first man in the family to get a divorce, so I haven’t done anything yet. I went to Nana and requested to change my target, but she refused and told me to solve this issue myself. How can I do that?

“Anyway, I’m mentally prepared not to return home after a year. Nana is just being stubborn. She’ll mellow down when she doesn’t see me for a long time and tell me to come home.”

Dylan added confidently, “As Nana grows older, she prefers the house be filled with her children and grandchildren. She probably won’t be as happy if one of us is absent.”
