The middle-aged man smiled and said, “My surname is Longbottom. Now, you've gotten to know me, Ms. Carrie.”
His gaze was quite audacious. After Carrie approached, he shamelessly scrutinized her, finally displaying a satisfied look at Carrie’s figure and appearance.
“Ms. Carrie, please have a seat. Let’s have a chat.”
“Mr. Longbottom, this is my home. Don’t act like you’re the master here. You have illegally entered. Do you know that I can call the police on you at any time?”
He laughed. Not bad looking for a man in his forties or fifties, presenting the image of a suave middle-aged man.
However, his gaze was overly audacious, and Carrie did not like the way his eyes roved over her, as if scrutinizing prey.
“Yes, yes, it’s our mistake. Apologies to you.”
With that, Mr. Longbottom clapped his hands.
A bodyguard stepped forward and handed a new handbag to him.
Mr. Longbottom took the bag and then passed it to Carrie, saying with a sly smile, “Ms. Carrie, this is my apology to you, just a small token. You should accept it, or else it means you might not forgive this uninvited guest of yours.”
“I don’t need bags,” Carrie said arrogantly.
Did he think he could easily appease her with just any bag?
Even if it was Hermès.
“I know Ms. Carrie doesn’t lack bags, but you’re currently short of money.”
He stood and handed the bag to Carrie. “Ms. Carrie, accept the bag for now. Later, we can discuss our partnership.”
