Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2699

“Sonny, come here.”

Jane waved to Sonny.

Sonny walked over to Jane, who pulled him closer and lifted him, placing him on her lap. She asked softly, “Did you fight with Laurence?”

“No.”

Sonny denied. He spoke with innocence, “But Laurence was right. Chloe really is his little sister. He also calls you Mama, so Clo-clo belongs to him.

“Aunt Jane, I really like Chloe and really want a little sister. How about you give your Chloe to me? Please?”

Jane chuckled. “We can’t give her away.”

Chloe was like a little princess at FC Manor, receiving endless adoration from everyone. People from outside were allowed to hold her for only a short while as the family was worried someone might take their little princess away.

“Why can’t you give her away? How about I buy her? I have money, and I’ll give all my money to you, okay?”

Jane laughed. “You can’t buy her either. Clo-clo is a person, not an item for sale. Sonny, you are also Chloe’s brother. Don’t listen to Laurence’s nonsense. He is as overbearing as Uncle Ben.”

Though not biologically father and son, both are equally protective and domineering when it came to Chloe.

“You’re lying. As long as I’m older than Chloe, she calls me brother. But it’s different from how she calls Laurence.”

Sonny added seriously, “My mom says I’m already four years old, not a three-year-old kid. Don’t fool me.”

He was quite clever.

“Yes, yes, Sonny is a big boy now, not a three-year-old anymore. I won’t fool you. But, Chloe really can’t be given away or sold off. If you like her, you can come to my house with Serenity to play when you have time, and you can see Chloe more often.”

Sonny tilted his head, pondering for a moment before saying, “But I go to school every day, and even on holidays, I only have two days off. I still need to think about my mom and spend time with Dunc. There’s not enough time.”

Jane nodded seriously, “So, what do you think we should do?”

Sonny did not know what to do.

He felt that he needed to have a little sister of his own.
