Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2713

Jason quickly looked around and whispered, “There shouldn’t be anyone around to hear us, right?”

Even in their own home, they dared not speak loudly.

It made Jason feel quite uncomfortable. He was becoming increasingly disenchanted with the rules of the Fisher family.

Unlike other families where sons were the successors, daughters took over in the Fisher family.

Within the Fisher family, daughters held a higher position than sons. Even though they shared the blood of the Fishers, being born as males meant they would not have the opportunity to take charge of household affairs.

“Caroline and the others have gone far. They shouldn’t be able to hear us. I’m just reminding you three that if you cherish your side chicks, don’t bring it up openly. Don’t let my sisters-in-law find out. Even if Mom wants to favor you, she will still deal with you if their families come to make a fuss.

“Would you agree to a divorce then?”

Adrian said, “The women outside are just for fun, not wife material. Their family backgrounds and statuses aren’t worthy of us.”

He kept a mistress from a humble background, giving her ten thousand dollars as a monthly allowance, and she was quite happy with it.

While his wife was not from an illustrious family, her family had some assets and she could assist him in business.

Adrian had always been ambitious. Knowing that he would not inherit the family business, he sought to amass wealth on his own. Occupying a high position within Fisher Enterprise, he partnered with his in-laws for business ventures. Leveraging the support of his in-laws, he earned a considerable amount of money from Fisher Enterprise.

He considered that money to be rightfully his.

The in-laws also held some compromising evidence against him. If he were to divorce his wife, and they handed that evidence to his mother, he would be in deep trouble.

However, it could not be helped.

Alas, even after her adoptive mother returned, her bank card remained frozen. Belinda had no intention of helping her reactivate the card, so she had to spend her savings.

Even for the commercial lots under her name, the tenants were saying that business was tough, and the shops were closing one after another. She wanted to rent them out again, but so far, she had no luck in finding new tenants.

She had even put some of the shops up for sale. People were coming to view them, but they all wanted to slash the price, pressing it down to an exceptionally low level.

Having had a smooth sail of life for over two decades, she thought she was the pride of the heavens. However, when Caroline appeared, she realized that she was nothing at all.

“Go, go, get inside.”
