Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2775

“Kevin.”

Hayden was in a good mood, speaking with a hint of a smile.

On the other end of the phone, Kevin felt pleasantly surprised. He chuckled. “Hay, what got you so cheerful? Even saying my name comes with a smile. I’ve known you for so long, and this isn’t something that happens often.”

Hayden had affection for him, but her attitude toward Kevin was often icy.

That was also Hayden’s personality; she had developed a demeanor of indifference and seriousness.

“Do you wish I were in a bad mood?”

“Definitely not! I wish you to be in a good mood every day, carefree and happy. But you carry such a heavy burden, which leads to immense pressure and the absence of a smile. Every time I see Hugh smiling carelessly, I feel like sticking tape over his mouth.”

Kevin’s beloved was tirelessly dedicated to managing Queen Enterprise.

Yet, Hugh had plenty of time to spend with his female friends, one after another, without settling down with anyone.

Hayden chuckled. “Then go and seal his mouth shut. Honestly, sometimes when I see him carefree, I envy him too.”

As the eldest, Hayden habitually shouldered all responsibilities for her brother.

To add to that, Hayden had been dressing as a man and never thought about reverting to a feminine identity. Hayden kept carrying the heavy burden, thinking that allowing her brother to lead a happy and carefree life was worth it.

After Kevin came into her life, Hayden gradually began to envy her brother.

Now, Hayden even arranged more work for Hugh, just as she would as she had told him before that someday, Queen Enterprise would be left in his hands.

Hayden could not possibly sustain this forever.

Hayden also wished for someone to rely on, to support her, and Kevin was that dependable person.
