Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2788

Hugh was better. He would at least interact with his female friends often and hang out with them. On the other hand, Mr. Hayden was truly ruined.

So what if Kevin was an outstanding man from the wealthiest family in Wiltspoon?

“In your dreams. These flowers aren’t for you. Is your brother not around?”

Kevin asked, “Did he go out?”

Hugh was not angry at Kevin for slapping his hand away. He deliberately teased him, “It seems like you haven’t clung yourself tight enough to my brother. You don’t even know where he went and that he didn’t return to the company this evening.”

Kevin stayed silent.

He did not know about that.

He recalled Hayden telling him to pick her up in the evening to accompany her to the banquet.

The banquet Hayden would be held in the manor that belonged to a wealthy family in Jensburg and not a hotel. Therefore, Kevin rushed over after finishing his work.

He did not even change his clothes. There was no need to anyway. He was in a suit every day.

Even if he dressed casually, a handsome man like him could easily be the spotlight in a crowd.

“From your expression, it seems like Hayden didn’t tell you anything. Haha, Kevin, you’ve been pestering my brother for half a year, but I guess his feelings for you aren’t that deep after all.”

After speaking, Hugh patted Kevin’s shoulder as a sign of sympathy. He said, “I’m busy and can’t talk to you longer. You can either go inside or leave. Up to you. Bye.”

Hugh left Kevin alone and walked away with the senior executives while discussing work.

However, Kevin was not one to be easily defeated by his future brother-in-law. He immediately went to the receptionist and asked, “Is it true that Mr. Hayden didn’t come back? Or is Hugh lying to me?”

“Mr. Hayden really didn’t return to the company.”

Kevin scoffed. He cared about Hayden too much. He got worried about Hayden leaving him just because Hugh said a couple of words and felt like he had never truly entered her heart.

“Where are you, Hay? I came to your office and met Hugh. He said you never came back all evening.”

Hayden was still practicing walking in high heels. She thought it would be easy. Well, it was indeed not that difficult. She was just not used to it at all.

After taking a few steps in them, she would take them off and tell Sophia that she would rather go barefoot than wear high heels. It was uncomfortable. Even dress shoes were better.

Sophia told her, “You should wear heels with a dress. I’ve never seen any ladies in our circle wearing dress shoes with a dress.”

Therefore, Hayden had no choice but to put on the heels and practice walking in them. However, it always ended up in her taking them off and walking back with the shoes in hand.

Her mother’s countless penetrating glares were about to turn her into a beehive.
