Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2815

“Kevin is good, but I don’t know why my dislike for him is growing.”

Hayden had never worn a dress for Hugh to see, yet she did it for Kevin. She even announced that she was a woman to the world for him.

Hugh was jealous. Although he hoped Hayden could live as a woman and get married, he could not bear the thought of her leaving when that time came.

“Why don’t you ask Kevin if he’s willing to marry into our family? I really don’t want you to leave. I only have one sister. You’re our parents’ only daughter. Can you bear leaving us behind and moving to Wiltspoon? If Kevin isn’t willing to become a live-in son-in-law, you should dump him.

“With your conditions, you can have any man you want.

“What happened to your eyes? Why do you keep winking? Did something get into your eyes?” Hugh asked out of concern when he saw Hayden winking at him non-stop.

She glared at him.

Hugh was usually clever, but he was especially dense that day.

Hayden stood up to walk around her table. She patted Hugh’s arm and took the cup of hot coffee from Kevin. She told Kevin, “Don’t mind whatever Hugh said. I won’t listen to him.”

Hugh turned his head abruptly and met Kevin’s eyes.

He was stunned.

How could he salvage the situation after getting caught red-handed for badmouthing Kevin and persuading Hayden to leave him?

Did Kevin hear everything?

Or did he only listen to part of the conversation?

“Haha.”

Kevin laughed dryly. “Do you want coffee, my future brother-in-law? Should I pour some for you?”

Hugh said, “I’ll have a cup without sugar or milk. I want it bitter.”

The bitterness would remind him to be careful and not get caught when discussing someone behind their backs in the future.

Kevin immediately stood and walked away. He said, “I’ll prepare your coffee right away. I should work hard to please my future brother-in-law for Hayden’s sake.”

Hugh was speechless.
