Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2866

”I know marrying me could put you in the way of unpredictable dangers, but I will do my best to keep you safe and not let anyone bully you or harm you, not even a single bit.”

Julian was the heir of the Buchams and as its future head, if he could not even protect his wife, he had no business taking that position.

Quinn replied on instinct. “It’s not like I’m afraid that you’ll endanger me.”

She could protect herself.

“As long as you and your family don’t do anything illegal, the power you have is all due to your competence.”

Julian hurriedly said, “We won’t do anything illegal like murder, arson, smuggling, or anything like that. We always consider the long-term, so how could we possibly be so stupid to do illegal things? Wouldn’t that just be asking for trouble?”

“Grandma May said before that if we Buchams dared to do anything illegal, she would be the first to hold us accountable because we’ve gained connections from her.”

The Buchams and the Yorks had such a good relationship because of Grandma May.

She was the main reason.

The secondary reason was that the younger generation had become true friends with an unbreakable bond; especially Josh and Zachary, who were the best of friends.

“Grandma May? She’s a very nice person.”

Quinn had met Grandma May and liked her very much.

Julian smiled and said, “If you don’t get on her bad side, she’s a very nice old lady. If you do cross her, she’ll screw you over and you’d rather die."

If he kept lying to her until she noticed, then, she would be very angry and feel like he had been playing her like a fiddle all this while.

They had not known each other for that long a time at this point and he was being honest with her now, so she was not that angry.

Julian shook his head repeatedly. “No, no. That was all I was hiding.”

From the beginning, he had appeared before her as a company executive and had never hidden the fact that he was an heir to a fortune from her.

“Can you give me some time to think about my feelings?”

Quinn needed some time to digest everything that had happened tonight.
