“Alright, stop pouting. People who don’t know what happened would assume I wronged you or something.”
Camryn wrapped her arms around Callum’s neck and kissed him.
His wife was taking the initiative to kiss him, so of course, Callum would not be reserved about it. He hugged her soft body tightly and they kissed for a while before he let her go.
When his gaze fell on the jewelry she was wearing, he said sourly, “You rarely wear the jewelry I give you but you haven’t taken off the jewelry Mom gave you since you put it on. My mom’s jewelry is all amazing. My gifts can’t compare to hers.”
Camryn pinched his cheeks, amused. “That’s your mother—your biological mother—who gave me jewelry, and you’re still jealous? I was going to refuse it earlier but you told me to accept it. Now, you’re being such a sourpuss. What do you want me to do?”
Callum scowled and stayed silent.
He just was jealous.
He felt like anyone could take his place in his wife’s eyes.
“Or should I take it off right now and return it to Mom?” Camryn teased deliberately.
Callum immediately hugged her tightly and said, “I’m not unreasonable. This is from Mom, so you should just keep it. And anyway, this set really does suit you very well. You look so beautiful wearing it that I was mesmerized—I couldn’t look away.
“If you change into a peplos, you’ll look like a mythical beauty, like a Greek goddess. I was just afraid that my gorgeous wife would be stolen away by someone else.”
“Give me one, then. I’ll wear it for you at home this weekend.”
She took off the set of jewelry Rosella had given her while looking in the mirror and placed them back into the brocade box one by one.
Callum followed her in and sat down on the bed, watching her.
“What are you just sitting there for? Go and take a shower,” Camryn said.
“I’m waiting for you so that we can shower together.”
Camryn’s face quickly turned red and she glared at him. “We have to wake up early tomorrow to go to work, and drive over an hour to get to the city. We shouldn’t exert ourselves tonight.”
Callum laughed mischievously. “I only said we’d shower together. I didn’t say anything else. What were you thinking, honey?”
