Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3007

Duncan said, “For you, I’ll keep going. I’m only handling important business now.

“My brothers help me too. They won’t let me get exhausted.”

Duncan added, “If it weren’t for you, I probably would’ve given up on myself and on recovering. I wouldn’t have been able to stand up for the rest of my life.”

“Silly.”

“I’m not silly. I just love you and Sonny a lot. Many people keep asking how I got attracted to you when you were a divorced woman who didn’t even look that pretty back then.”

Duncan smiled. “Honestly, I don’t know either. I just fell in love with you. I don’t need to find out why.

“Maybe your striving to be a better self and transformation brought me to you.

“I like Sonny too. I didn’t really like kids because they’re noisy, but I adored Sonny since the first time I saw him.”

Liberty grinned. “I know I got lucky because of my son.”

Duncan cared about Liberty more because she was Sonny’s mom, and he liked Sonny.

They gradually developed feelings for each other after interacting for some time.

“Sonny is our matchmaker.”

Duncan chuckled.

“Zachary too. I wouldn’t have known you without him.”

“Let’s get married when your business in Jensburg is settled, Liberty. What do you think?”

Before Liberty replied, he added, “Even if I haven’t recovered by then, let’s get married.

“I can stand and take a few steps now. Give me another year, and I’ll be able to walk normally. However, I don’t want to wait that long to marry you.”

Duncan was thirty-six years old. If he waited for another two years, he would be thirty-eight.

He was getting closer to becoming forty.

Liberty found it sweet. She said, “Okay. I’m also fine with us getting our marriage license now. You’re the one who’s not willing.”

Duncan was always worried that he would drag her down because of his injury.

He pointed at a toy store in front and requested with sparkly eyes.

“Can I, Mom? I want to buy toys. There are so many toys there.”

The store had some toys that he did not have at home. Some of those he found in the store had different colors and designs from the ones he already had.

Children could never leave a toy store once they entered one.

“You already have plenty, Sonny. We have shelves of them in the playroom.”

Liberty’s instinctual reaction was to refuse Sonny’s request.

“Your aunt always buys you new toys whenever she visits. The uncles from the York family buy you many toys every time you visit them too.”

Sonny pouted.

He was unhappy.

He had many toys, but he still wanted to get new ones after seeing them.
