“Honey, I want you to wear the jewelry I gave you tonight.”

“Doesn’t matter whose gift I wear tonight, as long as I’m wearing the diamond ring you gave me.”

Callum pecked Camryn on the lips. “Alright, I’ll let Mom have this round.”

Camryn pinched Callum’s cheek in amusement.

“Oh, right. That Mrs. Longbottom you and Serenity mentioned before will be attending the dinner tonight too,” Callum suddenly said.

At the mention of the young woman who sounded and looked like Carrie figure-wise, Camryn lost her smile.

She said calmly, “It’ll be a good time to observe her carefully then. She’ll slip up at some point if it’s a facade.”

“I got someone to look into it when I was free. She really is Mrs. Longbottom. Her husband really is a Longbottom.”

“Hmm.”

Camryn only suspected that Mrs. Longbottom was Carrie and had no evidence to prove it.

If Mrs. Longbottom and Carrie were one and the same, then there was a scheme in the works, which also meant that there had to be a schemer manipulating everything behind the scenes.

The very identity of Mrs. Longbottom and everything they had managed to find out so far might have all been fake information, planted beforehand.

Camryn had lived in the shadows for ten years and had a deep understanding of human nature. She would not trust anyone easily.

Besides those closest to her right now, she was very guarded against everyone else.

Even her biological mother had wanted her dead. She really did not dare to trust anyone easily.

“I’ve been sisters with Carrie for twenty years. There are many things about her that others don’t know. She has a lot of little habits that no one knows about.

“It’s possible that even she herself would overlook them. I just have to meet and interact with her a few more times to suss her out.

“Mrs. Longbottom appeared before us not long ago too, so if it’s Carrie with a new face, there’s no way she’ll be able to fix all her little habits in such a short time.”

Callum hummed in agreement. “Well, regardless of whether they are the same person, let’s not tip her off that we’re on to her before we figure out what she’s up to.”
