Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3034

What madness had gotten into Sally to make such sarcastic remarks about Camryn and insult her?

At the Houses’ banquet, where all three York madams were present, she actually insulted Camryn, spread lewd rumors about her, and smeared her reputation.

Just by the stares she was getting now, she already wished she could burrow herself into a hole in the ground, let alone when Callum came looking for her to settle the score if the nonsense she spouted was to get out.

She had just had a few glasses of wine and seeing Tasha and Camryn chatting away happily, she could not resist going over to them to cause a scene. She had had a crush on Callum, which made her incredibly jealous of Camryn. Then, her sarcastic remarks just started flying.

She had overlooked one thing—Camryn had not come alone.

Camryn was not just the eldest daughter of the Newmans—she was also Callum’s wife.

Callum was just like Zachary, in that they doted on their wives tremendously. Camryn was his precious, beloved wife.

When she said Camryn struck deals by relying on her looks and cuckolding Callum, they were indeed lies and slander. Camryn would win without a doubt if she sued her.

Nina turned around and said apologetically to Camryn, “Mrs. York, Sally’s had too much to drink and harmed your reputation by spouting nonsense in her drunkenness. I deeply apologize!”

She solemnly apologized to Camryn.

Then she turned to rebuke her daughter. “Hurry up and apologize to her!”

Sally did not dare to do it again and took two steps forward to bow in apology to Camryn. “I’m sorry, Mrs. York! The alcohol went to my head and I was so envious that I said harmful things about you. It’s my fault and I deeply apologize. I’m so sorry!

“I used to have a crush on Mr. Callum, so… I could not help but slander you like that. I’m really sorry. Please have mercy and forgive me this one time. I promise I won’t ever spout nonsense like that in the future.”

She had learned her lesson.

Nina said to Camryn, “Mrs. York, you mustn’t go easy on Sally. Press charges and punish her. We’ll see then if she still dares to spout any more nonsense and slander people as she pleases in the future.”

It was easy to spread rumors, but not easy to take it back; all you needed was a mouth for lies and irresponsible words to be spoken.
