Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3089

“Why are you eating this, Ms. Caroline?”

Caroline retorted, “Why can’t I eat this?”

“Only children like cotton candy.”

Caroline replied, “I’m unleashing my inner child.”

Elaine was speechless.

“What’s the problem?”

Elaine said, “Madam Fisher barely ate during lunch, Ms. Caroline. She skipped dinner because she didn’t have an appetite. Since you’re back, can you go upstairs and persuade her to eat something?”

“My mom doesn’t have an appetite?”

“That was what she said.”

“Did someone visit today?” Caroline asked.

“Her assistant came. She refused dinner after he left.”

“Maybe something had happened and affected her mood. That was probably why she lost her appetite. Okay, I’ll head upstairs to check on her. Is she in the study?”

Elaine said, “Yes. She also requested that Mrs. Clark meet her at the study once the young missus was back. Do you want to bring some food upstairs, Ms. Caroline?”

‘Was it something related to Emma?’

Caroline recalled mentioning the possibility of Celine seducing Adrian to Belinda.

Did Celine already make a move and succeed?

Adrian was too easy of a target.

“You can prepare the food. I’ll head upstairs to have a look. If my mom wants to eat, I’ll bring the food up to her later.”

“Okay.”

The moment she did, she frowned at the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke.

She saw her mother sitting in her black chair, smoking yet another cigarette. There were pictures scattered on the table and floor.

Caroline walked and bent over to pick up some of them.

Before she could see them, she heard her mom yelling, “Put them down!”

Caroline’s grip loosened as she was startled. The pictures fell to the ground.

“Don’t look. Don’t soil your eyes.”

Caroline still lowered her head and glanced at the pictures.

When she noticed they were photos of Adrian and Celine making out, she thought, ‘Celine sure is quick.’

The person who snapped the pictures was pretty skilled. They were able to take high-quality pictures of such a huge scandal.
