Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3147

Liberty was a divorced woman, while Mrs. Torres was a widow. They both had a son, but Mrs. Torres thought she was more capable than Liberty was.

She felt she had to fight for what she wanted.

She thought she had a greater chance of winning against Liberty.

Besides, Liberty was not in Wiltspoon at the moment.

Serenity remained silent.

Duncan smiled and said, “If you’re not in a rush, we can meet another day. Sorry for your wasted trip.”

Mrs. Torres returned the smile. “It’s okay. You should handle matters of higher priorities first.”

Every business negotiation required several trips, or even over ten times going back and forth before it was finalized.

Mrs. Torres’s secretary pressed the elevator button again while she walked toward the back of Duncan’s wheelchair, ready to push him into the elevator.

Duncan refused her help, saying, “It’s fine, Mrs. Torres. This is an electric wheelchair. I can control it myself.”

Mrs. Torres smiled and withdrew her hands. She watched as Duncan brought Sonny into the elevator.

At first glance, most people thought Duncan was rough. He also looked scary due to the scar on his face.

However, after interacting with him, Mrs. Torres discovered he liked children.

It was obvious from how well he treated Sonny. Even some father-and-son pairs were not as close as Duncan and Sonny were.

Since Duncan viewed Sonny as his own and treated him well, Mrs. Torres believed that if she could snatch Duncan from Liberty, he would be accepting of her son as well, who was a few years older than Sonny. He was a thoughtful child currently in elementary school.

He was probably easier to handle than Sonny as well.

After Duncan entered the elevator, Mrs. Torres turned and said to Serenity, “After you, Mrs. York.”

Serenity entered without hesitation.

Mrs. Torres and her secretary were the last to go in.
