Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3157

“I believe Duncan won’t fancy Mrs. Torres. He only has eyes for you.”

Liberty smiled. “That’s why you don’t have to be worried about me. If there’s a love rival, then it’ll be a trial for Duncan and me.

“You don’t have to keep an eye on Mrs. Torres for me, Seren. Let nature take its course. If she can secure Duncan’s heart, then I have nothing to say. If she fails, she might look for me instead.”

Liberty had experience in facing love rivals.

Before Liberty and Hank divorced, he cheated on her with Jessica. Even so, Liberty did not lose.

She was the one who suggested they get a divorce.

She could not accept any dishonesty.

Hank did not treat Liberty well. He was generous with Jessica but not her. As such, Liberty granted their wish.

Divorcing was not that bad after all. Liberty was living a better life now than before.

She received help from Serenity, but she believed she could have pulled through those tough times after divorcing even without Serenity’s help.

After experiencing a failed marriage, Liberty came to a realization. Women should have a source of income before or after marriage. One should not depend solely on a man.

A woman also should not prioritize her family to the extent of losing herself or disconnecting from society. If that happened, she would be at a disadvantage after divorcing. She would not be able to fight for her child’s custody rights.

Love was no longer the most important aspect of Liberty’s life. It was replaced by her career and family.

“Mm, I won’t do anything. I’ll just keep myself updated about Mrs. Torres. I should know her subsequent actions so she doesn’t go to you suddenly and catch you off guard.

“I guess outstanding men always have many admirers,” said Serenity. “But the same applies to capable women too. You also had other pursuers, but Duncan had simply shut them down before they could try anything.”

Liberty was speechless.

While there were other men wooing her, she rejected them even without Duncan’s interference.

Back then, she was still set about not remarrying yet.
