Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3232

That was why Imogen had not contacted Dylan.

When she talked to Serenity yesterday, they had gotten along, so she saw no other option than to come to Serenity’s office.

“I don’t usually drink coffee at noon.”

The two walked out of the office together.

Imogen glanced at Serenity’s stomach and said, “It’s best not to drink coffee or heavily caffeinated teas for now. You’re pregnant and have to avoid caffeine.”

Serenity laughed. “I know. I haven’t had coffee, tea, or alcohol in a long time now.”

That was precisely why Imogen had to make her own coffee.

“Is Ms. Stone not coming in today?” Imogen asked casually because Elisa had not come over to say hi.

“She’s gone to the market today and will only be back in the evening.” Both Serenity and Jasmine were pregnant. Even if they thought they could still win a fight against a bull in their current state, Elisa saw them as museum artifacts that had to be carefully taken care of and would not allow them to go to the market themselves.

“Oh,” Imogen acknowledged.

Once Serenity and Imogen got to the cafeteria, they collected their food and found a secluded spot to sit.

When Imogen saw that fish, meat, and prawns were included in her set, she asked, “Are all the set meals here the same? Do you not have different classes?”

“They’re all the same. We don’t have different grades of set meals.”

Imogen kept silent and continued eating.

Serenity asked in concern, “Did it not go well?”

“I guess. If it did, I wouldn’t have gotten drunk last night. The whiskey was really good but really strong. I thought I could keep going when I tried it, but I didn’t expect to get drunk so fast.” Imogen felt downcast at the mention of Dylan. Here was a man who she was quite interested in and suited her in all material aspects, but his heart was not hers.

This made Imogen feel defeated. She was not afraid of Serenity scoffing at her, but she had to say that she was quite a proud person. She would never feel interested in just any ordinary man and had thought the man she liked would definitely like her back too.

“What did he say? Did he say he wasn’t interested in you like that and purely saw you as a friend?”

“He said he wasn’t romantically interested in me and had only pursued me and was nice to me because he was trying to develop some feelings, but it failed. He also told me I was his grandmother’s choice of bride for him,” Imogen admitted.
