Hunter glared at Adrian and said, “If you tell Belinda and she disallows you to give me an allowance, are you guys really going to listen to her?”

“Of course not. We’ll definitely fight for you to get a certain amount, as long as you promise not to—” Adrian remembered that Hunter had been castrated and trailed off.

Hunter’s expression was dark, but he knew Adrian was just being honest. He collected himself before saying, “It’s up to you. If you want to tell her, go ahead. I’m your father. I’m old and have no income of my own. Isn’t it natural for you to provide me with an allowance? Will that woman have the nerve to stop you?”

Angry at Belinda, Hunter even stopped calling Belinda by her name.

“Dad, I’m sure Mom won’t stop us. Let’s not talk about this anymore, alright? Let’s go and have some barbecue. Tonight, we have to have at least a few good drinks.” Adrian changed the subject.

Hunter had managed to get money out of them today, so he was soon cheered up by his sons. The four men stood around the grill as they ate straight off it and the atmosphere was quite good.

Perhaps because he had quite a bit to drink and no helpers waiting on them, Adrian said as he ate, “I arranged for someone to crash into Liberty Hunt today.”

The rest immediately looked at him.

He looked back at them and said, “Why, is it that weird? She’s partly responsible for Cece’s death, so what’s wrong with me avenging Cece? You guys didn’t dare do it, but I did. Aren’t you going to support me?”

Justin said, “Adrian, Mom said before not to carelessly provoke that Hunt woman. She might be from Wiltspoon, but she’s Aunt Tiara’s descendant. She’s been dead for decades but people in the family still talk about her.

“Plus, that Hunt woman has a few of Wiltspoon’s distinguished families backing her. Our whole family is watching her, whether openly or secretly. If she does well, it’ll be easy for her to gain support.”

Adrian retorted, “That’s all the more reason we have to get rid of her now. Rather than letting her take over, it would be better to let Caroline take the position. At the very least, she’s our biological sister and won’t treat us too badly. But if that Hunt woman takes over, we’ll really lose everything then. Our lives might even be in danger.”
