Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3401

Dylan turned to give her a look before returning his focus to driving and he laughed. “In the past, the master thief stole from the rich to give to the poor, but now stealing is a crime and you’ll go to jail if you’re caught and convicted.

“Actually, it was a crime back then too, but it was a chaotic time and hard to catch them. Now, there are surveillance cameras everywhere. If the police want to catch you, there’s always a way.

“You’re still young and you’re pretty. It’d be better not to follow in your master’s footsteps.”

Sugar laughed. “I’m just saying. I wouldn’t actually do anything illegal. My masters all say that times are different now too. They’ve always taught us to abide by the laws and not to commit crimes.”

Dylan remarked, “Your masters are still worthy of respect, then.”

“There’s nothing worthy of respect in that group of old men who only know how to nag us to get married every day. I don’t see them getting married either. If they did, I’d immediately get married myself. Isn’t it great to just live alone carefreely? But they want us to head down to the love graveyard.”

On the topic of getting urged to marry, Dylan had something to say. He complained to Sugar about how his family elders would nag him from time to time too.

“No way. I heard Grandma May’s already picked out bride candidates for all of you though. Hasn’t she picked one for you? You’re fourth in line and turning thirty years old soon, right? I heard your younger brothers Peter and Austin have their bride candidates already. You don’t?

“Did Grandma May skip over you? Were you adopted and you’re not actually biologically a York, so your nana favors the others and doesn’t care about you?”

Dylan said with certainty, “I’m definitely biologically related. My nana did pick someone for me too, I just couldn’t develop any feelings for her.”

“Oh, is that so? Is she a really bad person?”
