Chapter 193 Women In Love
Nancy had just changed into her clothes and was getting ready to leave work when she received.
the call.
“Nancy…” Nicholas called gently, his tone unusually soft.
Nancy blinked. She had to admit that her throat immediately tightened upon hearing his voice.
She missed him a lot. She wished she could rush to his side immediately, hold him tightly, and curl up in his arms. In fact, she even wished she could nestle in his embrace and say his name at thousand or even ten thousand times.
But she didn’t want to make him worry! So, she had to endure it.
Glancing at the time, Nancy smiled lightly, pretending as if nothing had happened. She asked, “Why are you calling me on video at this hour? It should be late at night there. You must be exhausted from work. Rest well.”
Hearing these words, Nicholas felt his heart ache even more, especially when he saw her forcing a smile. He felt even worse then.
His beloved had clearly suffered so much and endured so much pain, yet she hadn’t mentioned a word to him. Instead, every word was filled with concern for him.
Unable to hold back any longer, Nicholas said with tender anguish, “Silly, why didn’t you tell me when something so serious happened?”
Hearing this, Nancy first froze, then, after realizing what he meant, she softly asked, “You already
know?”
As the words left her mouth, tears streaked down her face like rain.
She covered her lips, desperately trying not to make a sound while crying. Tears rolled down her cheeks, falling slowly into her mouth. They tasted salty and bitter.
“Nancy, don’t cry! It’s my fault; I didn’t protect you.”
Seeing her cry, Nicholas felt terrible heartache, especially when she was trying so hard to keep it together and not even letting out a sob. The more he looked, the more uneasy he felt.
But right now, besides verbal comfort, he couldn’t offer her even a single hug!
The more he thought about it, the more self-reproachful he felt. His brows remained deeply furrowed.
Nancy cried, and he could only quietly watch from the side, keeping her company.
Every tear felt searing hot as each landed on his heart.

After a while, Nancy raised her head and wiped her face.
Thinking of something, she asked in a small voice, “Do I look really ugly like this?”
“No.” Nicholas shook his head, comforting her with a smile. “My Nancy is always the most beautiful woman, no matter when.”
“Really?” Hearing him say this, Nancy felt a bit comforted. She broke into a smile through her tears and asked, “You’re not lying to me, are you?”
“No, I’m not. My Nancy is beautiful when she smiles, and she’s beautiful when she cries too.”
Hearing this, Nancy felt much better in her heart, and she physically felt a bit relieved.
“But… I still prefer to see you smile,”
“Alright.”
Nancy nodded vigorously, then wiped away her tears and smiled again.
When he saw her smile, his lips curved up slightly.
“Silly girl, let me ask you, who am I?” Suddenly, Nicholas raised the question.
Nancy was a bit puzzled as she answered, “You’re Nicholas!”
“No, I mean my identity, and what’s our relationship?”
“M-My…”
Nancy knew the answer, but she felt a little shy, so she answered hesitantly.
But Nicholas couldn’t wait any longer.

He let out a sigh and indulgently said, “Nancy, remember, I’m your boyfriend. From now on, if
you must not go through it alone. No matter what happens, good or bad, you have to tell me. We’ll share good things together. We’ll solve bad things together.”
“Okay.” Nancy nodded, adding, “I’m feeling much better now. Don’t worry. It’s very late there, so
get some rest.”
After ending the video call, Nancy washed her face, fixed her hair, and prepared to go home. But just as she reached the hospital’s entrance, she heard someone call her name.
“Nancy…”
This voice sounded somewhat familiar.
Nancy turned around, and upon seeing Julian, she immediately felt as if she’d encountered a fierce beast. She walked away without looking back, her steps quickening with each stride as she

was desperate to escape.
“Nancy, I…” Julian called again, but he found that she was already running.
He smirked bitterly. Am I the one who left a scar on her?
He had actually wanted to apologize just now. However, it seemed that she saw him as a terrifying
monster now.
Indeed, he was facing the consequences of his own actions.
Back at home, Nancy was just about to open the door when she found that it was already ajar.
“Linda? You’re back?” Nancy was surprised to see Linda.
Without a word, Linda walked up and hugged Nancy tightly. “Silly girl, why didn’t you tell me about something like this? If it weren’t for Nicholas telling me, were you planning to keep it from
me?”
“I didn’t want to worry you.”
“Not telling us would have made us even more worried. I’d love to charge up there right now and give that guy a beating. Nancy, do you want to resign?” Linda worriedly asked.
Nancy thought for a moment and furrowed her brows. “You know, I hadn’t actually thought about it. While I really want to continue my internship at this hospital, if he keeps harassing me, I might have to reconsider.”
“Yeah, just don’t think too much about it. Leave this matter to Nicholas when he comes back. Let him handle it for you. It’s time for him to show his boyfriend skills. If he doesn’t help now, when will he?”
With Linda’s words, Nancy let out a sigh and hugged her. “Linda, do you think I’ve become too emotional? When I’m upset, I really want him to be with me and hold me.”
