Seven Days Seven Nights (Nicholas and Nancy) novel Chapter 85

Chapter 85 Hosting a Birthday Party for Madelline

However, when Nancy saw Lynn, her heart instantly plummeted to the lowest depths.

“It’s you?” Nancy looked at him in astonishment.

Lynn smiled and replied, “Mrs. Sallow, it’s me. I’m here on Mr. Sallow’s orders to discuss something with you.”

“What’s the matter?”

“Ms. Madelline’s birthday is around the corner, and Mr. Sallow plans to throw a birthday party for her. He wanted to ask if you had any ideas?”

If she hadn’t heard it on her own, Nancy would almost have doubted the authenticity of the news. she had just heard.

Hosting a birthday party for Madelline?

He was eager to prove to others how much he cared for and cherished Madelline.

Had he ever considered her situation even a little in his heart?

Nancy tightly clenched her hands, desperately biting her lip, struggling to control herself.

After a while, she released her grip on her hands and looked up at Lynn, casually asking, “Is that

so?”

“Since it’s Madelline’s birthday party, you should be asking her for her opinion. Why did you

come to me?”

“What ideas could I have? I have no idea.”

Lynn scratched his head, looking puzzled, and then left.

When he relayed this information to Mr. Sallow, he could sense that the tension in the air around him had significantly lessened.

His demeanor was shrouded in a coldness and gloom, making him appear intimidating.

Nicholas gripped a pen in his hand and said irritably, “No idea? Did she say that?”

“Yes, she did. Lynn nodded.

“Get out,” Nicholas ordered in a cold tone.

He instantly felt as if all the strength had been drained from his body, experiencing a profound

sense of exhaustion.

She didn’t care.

She truly didn’t care.

She wouldn’t care if Nicholas throw ten or twenty parties for Madelline, wouldn’t she?

“Nancy…

He muttered her name and suddenly became obsessed with finding out who that man she had loved for ten years was.

At this moment, Lynn brought in some documents, precisely the investigation results into Christian from the previous time.

Nicholas flipped through the pages one by one, and with each turn, the chill in his demeanor grew more pronounced.

The Zayns?

Christian Zayn?

He was the enigmatic scion of the Zayns, who rarely appeared in public.

He had remarked that this man didn’t seem like an ordinary police officer.

Nicholas felt a sharp pain in his forehead.

He also thought about the set of clothes that Nancy had purchased. These past few days, he had been waiting for her to give him the clothes.

He had even reassured himself not to be impatient, believing she would give them to him one day.

But as time passed day by day, he realized that he was wrong.

Nancy’s set of clothes was never intended for him. If they weren’t for him, then who were they for?

“Send a birthday party invitation to the Zayns,” Nicholas instructed.

Lynn looked puzzled. “Mr. Sallow, our interactions with the Zayns don’t seem close.”

“It doesn’t matter. Send one to them.”

“Alright.”

Inside the Zayns’ mansion.

It had been a few days since Christian’s return, and his presence had brought a lively atmosphere to the dining table.

Laughter and joy echoed once again in this household.

During lunchtime, a bountiful spread of dishes adorned the table. Mrs. Zayn sat at the head of the table with a kind expression while Luciana and Christian occupied seats on either side.

Just as they were about to start the meal, the butler handed an invitation to Luciana and said, “Miss, it’s an invitation from the Sallows.”

“The Sallows?” Luciana took the invitation and looked quite puzzled for a moment.

Mrs. Zayn paused momentarily, then said, “While the Sallows are prosperous and thrived in recent years, we have had no prior interactions with them. Why would they suddenly send us an invitation?”

“That’s right, Mom. It does seem rather sudden.”

Luciana opened the invitation, which revealed it was for a birthday party, and then closed it. again. She looked at the butler and said, “Tell them we’ve received the invitation. If we have the time, we’ll certainly attend.”

“Alright, Miss.”

“The Sallows? Is it Nicholas Sallow?” Suddenly, Christian, quietly eating his steak on the side, spoke up.

“Other than him, no other family would dare call themselves the Sallows,” Luciana replied.

“Luciana, let me see.”

Christian opened the invitation. It was straightforward, mentioning that the Sallows hosted at birthday party and provided the date and location.

It didn’t mention who the party was for at all.

In his mind, Nancy’s face appeared, and as he placed the invitation back on the table, Christian said casually, “I’ll go.”

“What?” Luciana thought she had misheard and asked for confirmation.

Christian raised his gaze and affirmed, “I’ll attend this birthday party.”

“Aren’t you usually uninterested in these kinds of gatherings? When did you become so interested?” Luciana inquired.

“It’s nothing. I just thought I’d go to pass the time.”

“Alright, I’ll accompany you,” Luciana said decisively.

Before long, the day of Madelline’s birthday party had arrived.

She wore a soft, flowing peach-colored gown that fit her perfectly and made her look elegant.

At this moment, with her eyes closed, a makeup artist was meticulously working on her eyebrows. and applying lipstick. Madelline felt a sense of joy in her heart.

When the final touches of makeup were done, the makeup artist put on the necklace on

Madelline’s neck. Madelline opened her eyes and looked at her beautiful reflection in the mirror, almost unable to believe it was herself.

Alice said, “Oh my goodness, Madelline, you look stunning! When Nicholas sees you, he won’t be able to take his eyes off you.”

Madelline smiled shyly and said, “Come on! You’re exaggerating!”

“Of course, you should see how beautiful you are. I’d say you’re basically a goddess!”

Madelline didn’t say much, but her heart filled with joy.

“Where’s Nicholas?” she asked.

“Should I

go

downstairs and call him up for you?” Alice asked.
