Chapter 86 Nancy Attended the Birthday Party
“Exactly as I said. Nicholas’ tone was very icy.
Madelline gazed at him. Her eyes filled with tears, and she couldn’t utter a word for a long time.
“Yesterday, when I asked about the ring, it wasn’t that I didn’t trust Nancy, but it created a misconception for her.” Nicholas explained.
“She’s my wife, and I should have cherished, loved, and protected her, but I didn’t fulfil my duty as a husband.”
“As for you, Madelline, I’m the one who said I would marry you, broke that promise, and hurt you. None of this has anything to do with Nancy. I hope you won’t blame her for anything in the future.”
If she hadn’t heard it with her ears, Madelline would never have believed that these words came from Nicholas..
When he had agreed to throw a grand birthday party for her, she had been overjoyed to the point of feeling almost ecstatic.
She even thought he had finally changed his mind and would acknowledge their relationship publicly.
However, she hadn’t expected that this wasn’t the beginning” but the “end.”
“Nicholas…” Madelline called his name but choked up, unable to say another word.
She was suffering.
Her heart felt like it had been pierced, and she was in extreme agony.
How could this have happened?
It was supposed to be her eagerly anticipated and joy-filled birthday party.
She had been so happy and excited, thinking she was the happiest woman in the world.
But why was he telling her that all of this was false?
“So, you threw this birthday party not to celebrate with me but to say goodbye, is that it?” Madelline asked pitifully.
Nicholas nodded. “Whether you see it as a farewell or a way for me to make amends for my guilt, you can interpret it however you like.”

Is that so
Madelline gave a bitter smile. Suddenly, her high heels wobbled, nearly causing her to stumble.
Seeing how weak she appeared, as if she were about to collapse, Nicholas reached out and steadied her. “If you’re not feeling well, you can go back and rest. Since I promised you, I’ll ensure that today’s birthday party goes well.”
Nancy leaned against the railing on the second floor, observing this scene.
Madelline, dressed in a beautiful gown, looked like a princess. On the other hand, Nicholas, supporting her, resembled an elegant knight.
Nancy even wondered if this marriage had been a mistake from the beginning.
She shouldn’t have agreed to marry Nicholas. A marriage without love was like an empty shell. It would ultimately be an empty shell no matter how long it lasted.
She shouldn’t have come here..
For the past few days, she had repeatedly told herself, Nancy, you mustn’t go. You mustn’t go.
But when the day arrived, she couldn’t control herself and came here anyway.
The birthday party was extravagantly decorated, showcasing luxury at every turn.
Thousands of fresh flowers, flown in from around the world, adorned the venue, transforming it into a world of flowers. The scene was breathtakingly beautiful, resembling a secret garden fit for a princess. It was utterly stunning.
It was the treatment she had never received before.
And yet, her husband, Nicholas, had provided all this elegance and romance to another woman.
It was ridiculous!
Madelline’s dress, created by a famous designer, was exquisite and graceful. Wearing the dress. amidst a sea of flowers, she appeared like a beautiful and regal princess.
This level of thoughtfulness put many people to shame.
She felt very envious.
It was true. Nancy was so envious.
It was a scene she had dreamed of a thousand times, ten thousand times, but had never truly experienced.

Nancy descended the stairs, taking slow, deliberate steps as she entered the venue.
Once seen with your eyes and experienced firsthand, some things can put your heart to rest.
As she gazed up at the overhead flowers, walking with her head tilted back, she suddenly collided with something.
Nancy turned around and apologized sheepishly, “I’m so sor
However, her words came to an abrupt halt when she saw Madelline..
“You came?” Madelline looked at Nancy in disbelief.
It was her birthday party, organized by Nicholas for her. She had assumed that Nancy would secretly hide somewhere, crying in sorrow.
However, she had never expected that Nancy would have the courage to come. It was truly beyond her expectations.
“I came because I wanted to,” Nancy replied calmly,
“Don’t you know this is my birthday party?” Madelline crossed her arms, looking at Nancy.
“I know.”
“Do you know who organized such a grand and luxurious birthday party for me?”
“My husband.”
Nancy deliberately said this to infuriate Madelline.
“Yes, all of this was carefully arranged by Nicholas. He spent a lot of time and effort for me. He even invited many prominent figures from the business world.”
“Is that so?” Nancy laughed..
Seeing her sneer, her smile filled with mockery, Madelline asked in anger, “What are you laughing. at? What does this mean?”
“Madelline, you may consider yourself clever, but if you take a closer look, did any of his friends. attend? Did your parents attend? You can’t possibly think that Nicholas throwing you a birthday party means he’s acknowledging you and plans to divorce me to marry you, can you?”
“And I’ve said, without me willingly agreeing, this marriage won’t end.”
“Therefore, don’t show off in front of me or provoke me. It won’t do you any good.”
After saying that, Nancy couldn’t be bothered to listen to Madelline’s wordy remarks.

Perhaps her stomach felt uncomfortable and upset due to the greasy breakfast.
Nancy held her stomach and walked forward with some difficulty.
At that moment, a pair of beautiful hands effortlessly supported her.
Feeling incredibly uncomfortable, Nancy did not refuse because she urgently needed a place to
rest.
“Thank you!”
As she looked up, Nancy froze.
